  1. Hi. On reflection you are probably right and my comment was probably a little OTT so I apologise for that but I hope you can appreciate the sentiment...Of course you don't need to be hugely intelligent to be wealthy, ( I'm neither ), and able to afford such a car but my point was that if owners either can't be bothered to write a decent advert or go so far as to check it then to me at least it rings alarm bells re their potential care for the car I hope that makes sense but apologies for the post. Ed
  2. Jesus...How can someone that writes an add like that have enough money to own a car of that value? Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole through fear that they put oil in the rad and water in the engine, ( which is a shame as its quite a unique spec and could be nice )
  3. Hi, Has anyone got any experience of relaquering an S1 Exige engine cover, ( the standard clear one not motorsport vented type )? Mine has some scratches in.it. I believe its a case of sanding all the old laquer off and bringing it to a smooth polished finish before laquering with the same product as headlamp laquer.. Obviously I don't want to balls it up so would be keen to hear if anyone has done it or paid somebody else to, ( and its since stood the test of time )? Thanks, Ed
  4. Colour is "Yulong White". A metallic/pearl that looks white in some lights but almost silver/grey in others. I think it looks great on the S1 curves and all credit to the previous owner as the finish is superb..
  5. Yes I'll be able to work out where I am and stiffen a tad from there. Don't won't to destroy primary ride by going to stiff but just feels a little bouncy when trying to get on it on a bumpy surface.. No pics yet in my ownership but a couple here from previous owner.. VID-20231105-WA0012.mp4
  6. Hi All. I've just become the owner of an S1 Exige, ( part ex against my Sport 410 Evora ). I previously owned an S1 111s Elise. Car seems great. Its VHPD with a lot of nice bits on it. I'm still acclimatising but on initial aquintance it feels a little bouncy on Yorkshires bumpy B roads.. It's on rebuilt Bilsten PSS10. I appreciate there's probably lots of better set ups out there but I'm not really wanting to spend thousands upgrading as they've been fully rebuilt and are probably adequate for general use but if anyone has experience of them I'd welcome some advice on road settings? Its running ARB but I've yet to check current damper settings and believe they are single adjustment so not got lots of scope for fine tuning but I'll play about with them to optimise. Any concensus re F/R clicks for UK fast road? Cheers, Ed
  7. Having owned a couple of single seaters and a Caterham the getting out bit really is not too bad.. Granted it's getting less easy and it will never look "cool" but balding blokes in cars with wings are probably up against it even once in/out...
  8. Car now sold... After a slight change of plan I've taken an S1 Exige in part ex. Obviously a totally different proposition but I decided to put the Historic racing plan on hold for a year at least.. I'll miss the Evora as it was so good as an all rounder but the swap has put some cash in the race car/motorhome kitty and I'm sure I'll enjoy the Exige until the right time comes to go racing..
  9. Interesting. However is this all U.S based or at least International? I assume different countries are seeing different levels/extremes of the same theme?
  10. Car now reduced to £53,500ono. Happy to answer any questions and any inspection welcome. Cheers, Ed
  11. Agreed but then they are a lot lot cheaper than a 430 but with nearly all of the performance and they feel a bit more racey than a 400 which may suit some.. I've been out in a few GT Porsche products with carbon buckets and firm suspension and the Evora 410 comfort seems better to me both in terms of seat support and ride compliance.. At first i lived the Porsche buckets but after 20 minutes they gave me back ache.. with the 410 seats at first aquintance I found them a bit flat and hard but after driving the car for a few hours i found them to be fine.. Exhaust note is right up there too even if the engine is less exotic!
  12. Yes. With my Manual Sport 410 having been for sale for a month I can imagine an auto must be tricky as the general positioning of the model is ultimate drivers spec which most would likely lean towards manual.. I'm still surprised how niche the market is for such a fantastic car.. There's plenty of 2 seater sports cars out there that cost way more, are less accomplished, less practical and less reliable. For me the Sport410 was absolutely the perfect for my requirements and I can't think of anything that comes close for similar money.. Strange world but the right buyer will be out there somewhere..
  13. Car still for sale.. Open to sensible offers. Ed
  14. Yes I saw it at £31k and agree it looked to be worth high thirties.. Slow market...
  15. Anyone know what the final bid was? Not familiar with PH auctions as they're new but seemingly unlike Collecting Cars it doesn't show "winning bid" etc..
