  1. Just wanted to say thank you to Felix and all others who have contributed to this topic. I kept the original uprights, added the Peugeot discs and even the Brembo calipers as they look very much like the later Esprit brakes. Should I add AM calipers or Porsche GT3 brakes, the Porsche brakes are actually cheaper to buy, I could never pass MOT in Belgium. It's very strict and when there is AM or Porsche on them I'm quite sure they will spot, it ain't original . It took a while to create all the pieces and a lot of help from a good friend of mine, but my "Monza" brake conversion, as my friends call it, is finally ready. Thanks all! Now I want to have a new master cylinder fitted as the pedal is too deep imo. Any one who has a cross reference for it? much appreciated. the "Monza" is referring to the shape of my adapter plates ;-)
  2. LOL you just made my day and made me spill my coffee all over the desk
  3. So how does the new Lotus based upon the Evora platform look like Bibs?
  4. It's better for the car (electronics) to connect to a trickle charger, than to disconnect the battery.
  5. I believe fifth gear did some testing on spoilers, when they did the piece about the 200mph Esprit. The best thing was to remove any spoiler and cover the boot, like the early Stevens had, if I'm not mistaken. Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CM7NbL9Be0s
  6. The way the brackets for the suspension are made that is clear where that came from. You are right about handling, but man that V6 sound... so gorgeous... People are already starting to turn heads and stare while I'm still 250 meters away from them...
  7. If you just go for the red race chip, you'll already have very little stumble.
  8. I bet they missed Gino ;-) But Dany 's new ARSE company is just around the corner in Maranello, they can still have lunch together. Dany want to build a shooting break for Aston Martin... Maybe someone should tell him it has been done before?
  9. The facelift Evora should have been launched a long time ago...
  10. Where is Swiss Beatz?????? and where is Gino????
  11. They will show the new Esprit, with the new V8 engine!!!! and if you believe that I'l try to make you believe something even more silly as well ;-)
  12. LOL Word is out you renewed your swimming licence Sunday What a terrible weather
  13. The only thing we still need now on the other side of the channel is Sky Sports... I hope somebody will put it on youtube... Excellent company you had there in Silverstone! I can't deny being jealous...
  14. Team Lotus only has 79 victories in F1, the team from Enstone called Lotus F1 team has 2 victories, so actually this should have been a very select series, with only 2 cars in this series. It's despicable to claim someone's 79 victories, when there is nothing Lotus in/on your car except from a few stickers.
  15. Great news! The question is now how much he can still recover.
  16. Word is out that Coco still is pushing in full for a front engined Lotus...
  17. I just wanted to say, that the last time Lotus built an engine, GM paid for a lot of the costs and with so little Esprit V8 sold the engine was still missing a bit further development. And with such a small volume of engines it is too expensive to keep your engine up to date with all Euro regulations. You'll never make a profit from a 4.x V8 anno 2014. Bringing such an engine to the market these days is like committing suicide, if you are not Porsche or Ferrari or another upmarket brand. At the moment Bahar left the factory, the Esprit still needed 2 years of development to get it in to final production spec, IF they wanted it be delivered in the quality standards that was eyed in the initial project. Don't be fooled by the article of the mule.
  18. please explain a bit more. I know it was originally designed for an FWD car and that the S4s was to be the last Esprit. But why you mention inappropriate appllication? Cooling was never the issue I believe.
  19. Well what can I say; it seems I got it all wrong again. The Esprit V8 is only unreliable on this side of the channel Since you never experienced any problems with your V8; Can you give me 5 numbers between 1 and 50 and 2 extra numbers between 1 and 11, that just come to your mind? There is 48 million to win tomorrow and with you close; I'm starting to feel lucky: http://www.euromillions.com/en/ I promise to buy you another V8 engined Esprit should I win the jackpot
  20. So YOU are that one person who never had any issues with that engine? I know/knew more than 12 people whom have/had a V8 Esprit. NONE of them got to 30k kms without engine rebuilt... in fact most of them did not get to 25k kms...
  21. Advantage it's very very clear you never owned a Lotus Esprit V8, otherwise you would have much wiser comments regarding building your own engine... The Speed Six was the start of the end for TVR, more cars came back in than they could sell. It wasn't muche better with the Esprit V8...
  22. Very sad! At 88 and being triple F1 world champion, I guess he must have had a great life though.
  23. I don't have a (Lotus) car, being worth featuring on TLF I'm afraid. But I did love to read the article about Jonny's! Thnx everone for bringing it together! I know there are a lot of peeps in here with special Lotus cars, would love to read more about them.
