  1. Timing belt and fuel pump fuses check out ok. What's the usual way to check for spark? Should I be able to hear the fuel pumps running when the key is turned to the on postion? I've also noticed that when I crank the engine it seems to cause a bit of an electrical drain so i'm thinking maybe a bad alternator or starter. The alternator was replaced in 2003. The starter appears to original.
  2. My car is an '88 USA Esprit Turbo. I was driving it around town yesterday and it was running great (always has up this point). All of sudden the engine just died. I took a look around the engine compartment and I didn't see any obvious reason for the sudden loss of power so I tried starting it again and the engine turned and sounded ok but wouldn't start and the needle on the oil pressure gauge stayed at zero. I let it cool down and tried again but the result was the same. Anybody have any idea what might be wrong before I take it to the shop and have them figure it out?
  3. 1988 Esprit VIN: SCCFC20A4JHF62204 Variant: Bosch F.I. Turbo Build date: March 7th 1988 Market: USA Exterior: Midnight Blue with Nimbus Grey sills (sills and wheels now gold) Interior: Full leather / Gold with Sand contrast One of only 12 finished in Midnight Blue for USA and one of only 9 finished in Midnight Blue with Gold/Sand interior for USA.
  4. Close-up of first pic. Two separate female spade connectors with single black wire and single purple wire.
  5. I've been going over my recently purchased 1988 Federal (USA) Esprit and I found some unconnected wires in the engine compartment that I need help identifying. Two coming out of a harness at the RH rear sidewall (circled in green in first pic). One has a black wire the other has a purple wire (possibly purple/white). One under the RH rear inner quarter trim panel next to charcoal canister (circled in green in second pic) One barrel shape plug with two female bullet connectors in it between the plenum and back wall of the engine compartment to the left of the coolant header tank (circled in green in third pic). Also, should the hose tube that's capped off on my airbox (circled in green in last pic) be that way or should there be a hose attached to it and if so to what or from where? Cheers, Tim
  6. Still looking for one (in any condition). Also looking for (in any condition): S1/S2 shift knob S1 (or S2 if same) gas caps S1 rear wolfrace wheels.
  7. Yes, exactly. The seller e-mailed me when he listed it. Hope to win it. Cheers.
  8. Andy, Thanks for the heads up but unfortunately he's selling a Moto-lita sport wheel not a factory stock one. He also mentions how hideous he thinks the factory stock wheel is. Cheers.
  9. If you've got one to sell please let me know. Cheers from across the pond.
