  1. Drew, Sounds good and I'm interested. I probably could get some other US guys to commit, such that a minimum of 4 sets (maybe more) would be ordered. One question, is the hub diameter for the front TWS wheel correct? I thought both our front and rear wheels require a hub diameter of 68.1mm, no? Thanks for following up on this.
  2. Jonny, I believe 32/38 (f/r) is the cold pressure recommendation for street use, no?
  3. Lotus recommends 32 and 38 HOT front and rear, respectively, for the CupR. I think the recommended rear HOT pressures are too high, but what do I know? Lotus handling gurus should be the experts here. Full specs below:
  4. Lotus recommended geo specs for CupR: Camber: Front: -2.1; Rear: -2.25 degrees Toe: Front: .5mm out per side; Rear: 1.5mm toe-in per side
  5. Not as bad as yours, but my tires (CupR) are showing a similar wear pattern -- significantly more outside edge and middle wear, with little wear on the inside. Car needs more camber both front and rear (at least for my track use only) with the Trofeos, IMHO. This will only be exacerbated in my situation when I go to slicks. Just my 2 cents, FWIW.
  6. I'd be interested as well, if shipment to the US is possible? As others have said, we need to know offset, width and confirmation of wheel-bolt pattern and hub-centricity. TIA. By the way, the "unsprung" to "sprung" weight ratio used in that "ad" or whatever writeup that is in the attachment is definitely on the high side, given all the info I've read on the topic provided by the experts. Best (highest) estimate that I've seen is ... shedding 1lb of "unsprung" weight is like saving 4 lbs of "sprung" weight....still significant but not 15 to 1.
  7. There are a lot of products sold here for matte paint car ... http://www.chemicalguys.com/Matte_Plastidip_Paint_Vinyl_Care_s/342.htm I've been using this product and it works well ..... http://www.chemicalguys.com/Meticulous_Matte_Detailer_16_oz_p/spi_995_16.htm
  8. There are specially formulated products for use on matte or satin finishes (whether paint or wraps). Products include wash, quick detail and wax. All formulated to not "shine" up the finish, yet leave it with that new car matte paint sheen/patina. Interesting read here .... http://www.drbeasleys.com/blog/2012/05/05/matte-paint-finish-myths/
  9. Jonny, I can get to the knobs w/o removing the under tray when the car is in the air on my stacker. It is virtually impossible to get to the adjustment knobs by reaching around the the rear wheel and getting you hand through the opening between the under tray and suspension bits when you are on your back and the car is on the ground .... Mike will find out soon enough.
  10. By the way, Mike .... I, too, love your car! Drive it in the best of health.
  11. Pits, my experience. Fronts are a snap ..... rears not so much. Very difficult (I think impossible) to get to the two knobs w/o removing the rear wheel. Easy on a lift with wheels mounted. As you can see from this photo ....

    Kaaz Gearset

Adam, I tried the Kaaz gears in my Cup 255 back in 2007. Worked well, stronger than stock, and you will be a little (to much more) busy shifting depending upon track configuration. For my 2-Eleven, I went with a stronger 3rd and 4th gear set (Jubu or SSC) and they have held up well, even with increased HP/TQ over the stock 2zz output.
  13. Jeff, which version of the TD wheels are you getting, the set sold by Komo-tec or Seriously Lotus? They appear to have slightly different specs based upon my research. Comparing Komo-tex's version to Seriously Lotus' wheels: the offsets (ET) are different; the K-T front wheel is wider (8") and reported weights are different. Perhaps I'm wrong that both companies are selling Team Dynamics wheels?? Any input would be appreciated.
  14. Thanks, great idea. I was only going run the slicks on the right side of the car .... thought it would help with all the Ovals we use our Loti for here in the Colonies. Us Yanks need all the help we can get.
  15. For sure .... my next set of tires (once break-in is over ) ....
  16. Ok, some updated info: Wheels made by HRE .... model designation R101 ... forged, mono-bloc design. They will make them to fit the Lotus Exige V6... hubcentic (of course); proper wheel bolt pattern for front and rear, and will make them to custom specifictions for width and offset. Preliminary estimate of weight for the wheels with the following specs: Front 17x8 et26 -- 15.6 lbs (7.1kg) Rear 18x10 et 35 -- 18.9 lbs (8.5kg) Cost looks like it will be on the expensive side ... preliminary estimate is ~ US $7200-7500 per set.
  17. Mushroom-style (looks like HKS' product) ....up against a plastic air-scoop tied into the left side-pod.
  18. I'm looking into these ..... forged monoblock and light ..... but I fear they will be expensive. Might look good in orange.
  19. Almost done with break-in .... can't wait to make the switch to some real "rubber". LOL
  20. Here's a very short video clip -- not exciting as I'm doing break-in, but several of my friends have been asking me how I like the sequential tranny and wondering if I will miss shifting my standard box. Well, my answer: I'm in love -- the Xtrac rocks and Lotus Motorsport did a great job programming/integrating the GCU and ECU. Looking forward to finishing up the break-in, jettisoning the R-comps in favor of some Yoko slicks and seeing what this baby can do compared to my 2-Eleven. Let the good times roll! VIDEO:
  21. You will have FUN -- life is short, go for it! The underbelly shots were taken after driving it for 50 miles or so ... we don't have much rain in the deserts of Nevada (just sand), so no mess unless one has an off-road excursion.
