  1. Thanks, Pits -- 600 HP might be nice except it would destroy the "momentum" nature of this car .... I was trying to get away from "point and shoot" cars when I sold my 996 GT2 No exciting video yet ... I might be able to post some video highlighting the rapid shifts of the sequential. I was supposed to keep the RPMs below 5K until the tranny flush, due after ~ 50km. Some photos of the underbelly of the beast while the under-tray was off for said fluid change .....
  2. I'm loving this car, especially the Xtrac 426 gearbox ---- more break-in miles needed. Luckily, I live around the corner from a private race track.
  3. You are correct ... 4 drivers with 11 world championship titles ..... a close-up
  4. Well, it's time to get ready for some driving ..... car is settled into its new home .... Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. Can anyone guess who's hanging with the V6 CupR .... picture on the wall visible in photo #2?
  5. Well, we will see. I have faith that Motorsport did the proper calibration and verified that when doing their test drive. In any event, the shop I'll be using has a good amount of experience with the Xtrac (plus paddles) and calibration, as they have been doing track support for an Evora GT4 for the last 2 years. I know they went through some calibration issues when they added paddles in order to get the flat-shift and auto-blip to work properly.
  6. Will do. I've heard the Xtrac box, itself, is quite durable; although the clutch may be an issue if not used as intended, i.e., not suitable for "stop and go" maneuvers.
  7. Just heard the CupR landed at LAX and should be picked up today ..... a few images right before the car was loaded on the transport at Hethel ..... thank you Russell. BTW, is it always raining in England?
  8. I think you may have the last one. I'm running Jim Valentine's 2-bular muffler and headers ... muffler is the 6x18" version and is pretty loud.
  9. FWIW, that was the case here in the States ... only the first batch of cars (~ 24) delivered back in 2008 came with a build plate. Subsequent model year 2-Elevens did not have a build plate and the factory would not supply one for those cars.
  10. I haven't, but I'm running Yoko slicks and not 048s, if that matters?
  11. YUP ... that's my friend's new 2-Eleven --- heading over to the Colonies very soon. Can't wait to try out the sequential.
  12. If you want bolts, BMW bolts will work on the 2-Eleven wheels -- you can duplicate the proper length and these BMW bolts have the proper seating to match your wheels. One place to get these in the Colonies is Turner Motorsports .... black: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1237-wheel-lug-bolt-for-bmws-black-standard-extended-lengths-sold-individually.aspx or silver: http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-1559-wheel-lug-bolt-for-bmws-silver-standard-extended-lengths-sold-individually.aspx I'm sure there are vendors local to you as well. I'd go with studs and lug nuts myself.
  13. I think it's a traction control issue. You don't need a fuel cell (except for safety concerns). If "TC off " doesn't take care of the issue, follow Dan's advice.
  14. That was the case for US deliveries ... only the 2008 MY cars came with build plates. Subsequent cars did not have the number badges.
  15. Al, Trying to get a hold of you with a PM, but got the message that you can't receive them. Contact me at jfried993 at aol dot com
  16. Al, Your car should already have it -- you've got a front tow hook, hence you have the receiver into which it fits. What you need to do is lose the under-diffuser tow hook for this .....
  17. AND .... 2-bular headers ...... Scotty, do you have those too?
  18. Hi Jon, Original dash (dials) cluster has been removed and the stock 2-11 binnacle has been modified to allow for the factory-like flush fit. As for which AIM template we're using, I'm sorry to say that I don't know as i didn't do the dash setup. From what I understand, AIM has the protocols in place to allow you to connect the MXL pista or pro to the Lotus dash CAN bus and and get that data. For the 2008 2-11's, you would use the 2007 Elise/Exige protocol. The newer 2-11's, with the black-face dash, would use the 2008 and later protocol and get even more CAN data. I can give you a number where to reach a great guy (Josh) for AIM technical support, but the call would be to the USA .... California. Let me know if you want it.
  19. Thanks, Bibs ... wish I could take credit for it. My friend, Brent, is a very talented fabricator -- here's a photo of yet another 2-Eleven-specific item he designed and had made ... rear tow-hook for an above-the-diffuser mount. We can get all the can data which was supplied to the original, stock dash ...... you can (and must) program the AIM dash to pick up specific, desired warning info, if you want it to trigger an alarm. For example, we have assigned one of the warning lights to pick up on any MIL (check engine light) signal and we've used another warning port for a "traction control off" signal, but could make it ABS, etc. The MXL dash allows for 6 warning alarms to be displayed on the dash (the MXL pro allows for 8) ... we're using the other four to monitor and display a warning alarm for -- high water temp, high oil temp, low oil pressure, fuel level at less than 15%. We have added sensors that work with the AIM dash for A/F and oil pressure and temp. Dash also has an odometer and will display running hours. Don't know what you mean by "stand clocks"?
  20. My good friend .... (and amazingly talented craftsman/racer/fabricator) .... installed the Aim dash, along with a few other modifications, a topic for another post. Gone is all the clutter -- no need for ancillary gauges. The dash can be programed to display whatever data you want to see while driving, as well taking care of full data logging for download and subsequent review. The dash draws it's information from both the factory ECU as well as any added sensors that you wish to install. The dash also serves as a GPS based lap timer with predictive lap logic and segment timing -- no need to put out beacons trackside. A few pictures to compare the new (below) with the old (above) .... THANK YOU, Brent!
  21. FWIW, see the following post for dyno graphs on what we got with the stock "255 HP" ecu and then tuning for headers ..... http://www.thelotusf...n-dyno-results/ Bottomline, the stock "255 ecu" put out ~ 228 whp/159 wtq --- with "charlie-x" tunning and headers, we got to ~ 265whp/172wtq On the same dyno, the factory "260 ecu" put out very good numbers (A/F could be improved upon for safety margin) ... ~ 258whp/169wtq .... graph below. We have found that power does fall off significantly on HOT days as engine temp (water and IAT's) rise and the ecu does its thing to protect the engine -- pulling timing and adding fuel.
  22. This may be old news, but don't recall seeing it posted on this forum ...... FYI ..... http://www.lotustalk...ng-gears-90065/
  23. Andy is smokin' fast! Much faster than me at Laguna.
  24. Barry, It was a blast! Especially since my son (driving the black 2-11) and I were able to share the podium for the wheel-to-wheel race -- son 1st, dad 2nd. I guess that 37 year youth advantage paid off. The 2-Eleven's turned the fastest times .... FTD for a 2-Eleven was a 1:36.6. The fastest Exige (which had a built motor putting out 315 WHP and 190 WTQ, water-air intercooler, triple adjustable suspension, custom tuneable EFI ecu, major aero, 1650 pounds and more) turned a 1:37.3. The best, relatively stock, Exige Cup car (with major aero, nitron triples, lightened and some go-fast parts, but still running stock boost) turned in a time of 1:40.5. Better times are definitely possible in the future since most of the LCS participants have limited seat time at Laguna. Some video .....
