  1. Just back from a great weekend at Laguna Seca with the Lotus Challenge Series .... what a blast that circuit is in a 2-Eleven. I know that I'm preaching to the choir when I say that these cars are meant to be driven on the track. So, a big THANK YOU to Lotus for building us such a fun car. A few photos now, some video later, for your viewing pleasure.
  2. I've done the same as Mr OZ -- added the gold reflective tape.
  3. Ads, I recently fitted the Lotus tonneau and it's a definite plus if you don't mind losing the passenger seat. A little more difficult getting in and out, but not a real issue. Turbulence is reduced significantly and aero is enhanced. For my use (track only) removing the passenger seat was a no brainer. The aftermarket tonneau looks good as well. Photo with Lotus tonneau.......
  4. No video from the black 2-Eleven, but here's the track/video view from the "back-up" car ..... This track is Buttonwillow Raceway, located in central California -- we were running configuration 13CW. Same configuration often used by US car magazines when doing their performance car articles. Rarely, if ever, can they break the 2 minute mark, even with some of their professional driver/consultants .... whether it be a Nissan GTR, 997 Turbo, Z06, etc., the 2-Eleven outshines them all. Thank you, LOTUS.
  5. ...... why we all love the 2-Eleven ....... having fun on track .....
  6. I've also used something similar .... sold under the name of "Dynamat" ... very malleable and has held up well. Don't forget to fashion some sort of oil cooler protection -- otherwise the coolers will get quite beat up.
  7. You're correct .. purple mounts are the LMS inserts. I'm using the 85a mounts in one of my 2-11's, the other has the LMS -- the Innovate 85a mounts are significantly stiffer. There is virtually no engine movement -- not only helps with shifting, but also helps throttle response/ throttle steering. You will feel much more vibration than with the LMS mounts, especially transmitted through the roll cage due the replacement of the side mounts. But as you noted, this is a track only car for you. For anyone using this car on the street, the 85a mounts are overkill. Enjoy.
  8. Barry, Also check the bolts on the rear engine/tranny mount .... we've seen a few cars (2-Elevens) with missing (fallen out) and loose bolts. Early warning sign is the muffler starting to "walk" to the right due to excessive engine movement.
  9. We've been having fun tracking in the Colonies .... video of a gaggle of 2-Elevens playing on track ......

    Oil Leak !

Check the dip stick "O" ring .... it has been a common source of leaks on s/c cars.
  11. I'm using a similar sandwich adapter made/sold by Greddy along with a Defi display unit to show oil temp and pressure -- it has programmable alarms and will record data for short intervals for subsequent playback. I've also added a wide-band air/fuel meter since there was an unfulfilled bung in my cat delete pipe. . That was my intial setup when the car was new. I'm now in the process of adding an AIM Dash (replacement for the stock unit) to work in conjunction with AIM's new Smarty Cam and allow full data logging. In the interim, I've added the SmartyCam and an ECU bridge, which allows me to import some useful data from the ECU (like RPM's , throttle position, accurate MPH, etc) to my in-car videos, as well as get lap timing via the gps unit within the camera. And, just for Simon ... some photos ... 1) greddy adapter, 2) defi display unit, 3) all gauges with a/f meter on the left and 4) a screen shot from a video showing the ECU data I'm importing
  12. Patrick is correct .... you will have a blast and while you're in Northern California, do both Laguna with Skip Barber and then do Infineon (Sears Point) with Jim Russell, both great schools and world famous tracks ..... First this ... And then this .....
