  1. Just imagine what the driver could have done with some stickier tires.

  3. I can't let Eldon take over my post and put up a video of his car w/o there being one of my car. 🧐 A fun config @ Spring Mountain Motorsport Ranch -- the "Clark A" -- we haven't run it for a while.....I'm faster now after being "tutored" by Mr Eldon. 😜
  4. @EldonZ ---- My Hero! Did we ever figure out what that white car you were chasing starting @ about 3:23 in the video....Panoz or Ginetta G55?
  5. Got all the parts and just waiting to get into my "race shop" under the supervision of my designated crew chief @EldonZ Eldon has already done the upgrade to his CupR and served as the "pioneer" for this project -- he loves science projects. I'm sure he can chime in on how he likes the changes. His car has certainly achieved "low-rider" status. I believe he is running ride heights of ... 105mm front and 115mm rear. Some photos of Eldon's car, as he is very shy. 🤭
  6. My attempt at being @GFWilliams...... ....not even close.....
  7. Time for a few photos post track run and clean-up showing Imran's side sills and side scoops--@alias23 Unfortunately, I don't have the George's photographic skills-@GFWilliams
  8. @Hangar111 -- Thanks for your input Dave. Yes, while the CupR Y-pipe did not touch the stock pan, it was close....might even have picked up a couple of mm's of clearance with the Moroso -- still very close. Based upon a photo (below) I've seen of the KT track 63mm Y-downpipe and Moroso pan, looks like it will fit OK...fingers crossed. Regarding the Lotus recommended servicing of the stock baffled sump's rubber "flaps" ..... never heard of such a thing until reading the CupR Supplementary Manual. 🤨 That servicing requirement provided me with additional incentive to change out the sump. Perhaps my "flaps" were in need of service and that explained the oil surge I saw in my data ....who knows?
  9. As an aside, since the photo in my previous post was taken, I have gone with a Moroso wet sump in the hope of eliminating some oil pressure drops under heavy braking and some high "G" (1.4-1.5) in certain low speed corners. I felt the Moroso sump had better baffling than the stock CupR pan. Data post install supported my belief. Bibs/moderators--- feel free to move, Photos for comparison....
  10. Got it....I think we're saying the same thing? On my CupR, it's a 51mm Y-pipe merging into a 63mm S-pipe. Hence my desire to increase the Y-downpipe to 63mm (from 51mm stock) by going with the KT's Y-pipe that will attach to KT's manifolds. If I find the data is not good post KT component install, I'll go back to stock and sell the KT stuff. @Kristof ThysThanks for your comments @Seriouslylotus--Dave, always appreciate your input and any advice would be welcome. Photo of my current setup with Burns re-packable 63mm inlet muffler..... stock S pipe (slightly modified) and stock Y-pipes have been coated....
  11. Hi Imran, no codes/errors w/o cats -- that's how the CupR comes from Lotus. Lotus Motorsports uses a track-only calibration for the CupR ECU. Adding the KT exhaust manifolds and their increased diameter (2.5" vs 2" stock) track Y-downpipes will reduce restriction and will add a bit of torque and HP. Obviously, to maximize the benefit from the manifolds and Y-downpipe, an updated calibration would be needed -- that may happen eventually. KT indicated that they don't have new maps for the CupR ECU, probably have to go with a MoTec ECU eventually. I've been informed that even w/o an ECU re-flash, the car's ECU (which is quite capable) will adjust appropriate tables to handle the increased flow and will make "some" additional TQ and HP, w/o harming the engine or affecting the shifting strategy of the Shitec TCU. I will be looking at A/F, timing, etc post install, if, and when, I do this. @Kristof Thys -- Interestingly enough, the stock CupR S-pipe is 2.5", while the Y-downpipe is only 2" OD. It's my understanding that the Exige 4xx cars uses 3.0" OD downpipes but then drops down to a smaller OD at the S-pipe
  12. Thanks George. I have no cats now, no pre-cats in the exhaust manifolds or downstream. However, the stock manifolds are quite rudimentary and appear to be restrictive. As for the Y-downpipe, the stock one is 50mm or 2", while KT's track version is 63mm or 2.5" Photos of the stock pieces off a CupR (not mine) below.....
  13. Has anybody out there installed KT's manifolds/Y-downpipe on their V6....with or without an ECU flash? Any information on your experiences would be much appreciated.
  14. I owned a 993 Turbo....fun road car, but no match for any of the Lotus cars I've owned when it came to track duty. Given its increase in value since 1997, wish I would have kept it long term--- lots of Porsche Exclusive Options, like carbon fibre, paint to sample "Ferrari Gelb" and a few more .....
  15. @giorgio67 -- As usual @EldonZ is right on the money...... owned both as track-only cars. 2012 SR3 (1500)/2008 2-Eleven, both purchased new. Sold the Radical in 2014; still have the 2-Eleven. In a nutshell, 211 faster on straights, Radical has better aero and pulls more G's in the corners.....hence Radical has better lap times. Both were and are a blast to drive. Radical maintenance cost much higher than the Lotus.
  16. Just to add to Eldon's post, in case one likes pictures .......
  17. Anthony, thanks for the info regarding the Irish source for Yoko's. As for the routing of the hose in question, I will take a look tomorrow as well; but Eldon is the man and my expert and I would defer to him.
  18. Imran, the short answer is YES, very happy. I love the look of the new access panel and the price from EliseShop was good. Yvo was easy to deal with and made some good suggestions on the install. Kristof pretty much summed things up well on the fitment.....a little fettling (love that word) is required. I got the CF version and the quality of the finish is very good. Of course, the red accent on the leading edge had to go -- it clearly wouldn't work on my orange car. As for Kristof's comment regarding the front leading edge sitting "a bit higher", I presume, he's referring to other Exiges he has seen ?? I will have to defer to him as I haven't seen any V6 Exiges in the States with the newer access panel. As far as I'm concerned, I like the leading edge's height as it sort of serves as a front gurney flap. 😀
  19. @Antflies -- Thanks, but I'm not importing slicks from across the pond...what do you pay for shipping? I go through a lot of slicks, as I put on about 3000 track miles per year on each of my Loti. I was getting mine in the past directly from the exclusive US distributor -- wait time was a day. However, due to insufficient demand for the 17" size with the demise of the Lotus CupUSA series, they are not bringing them in any longer. I've switched to Hankook slicks and am very happy with them, on both the cost and wear fronts.
  20. Yeah.....can't get the 17" fronts anymore. Yoko Motorsports is not importing them any longer.
  21. Decided to modify the front service panel --- continuing with the carbon fibre/matt look by having my service panel tie in with my CF/matt roof and CF/matt rear engine cover.
  22. @Antflies---BTW, which brand of slicks are you running and what sizes?
  23. Anthony, Eldon and I both have Bosch Motorsport ABS. Your stock Bosch ABS will not like the slicks....be prepared. Forewarned is forearmed.
  24. @EldonZ---Eldon, get back to work. I'll take over on the pics.
