  1. The search is on again. Gotta be a decent and cheap bit of ducting out there....
  2. Nig, How's it going? I've orderred a load of bits from Steve at SJs. The Dizzy cap is knackered, and the rotar arm is a bugger to get off. Won't be driving my Esprit until I replace the carb gaskets, and replace dizzy & rotar arm, then I'll call in to see you. Don't know what your up to, but I'll be seeing my mate for lunch tomorrow. (Emanu, french bloke who helped out). Cheers, Eddie

  3. Nigel, See you are in the area, seems to be British and into Esprits. fancy meeting up? I'm in Teloché, cheers Eddie

  4. Car had N' 17 written on the side. Only Esprit (GG type) at the show. Just shows how rare they are. Looking around at the show they are on the level with Ferraris, Tamasso, GT40s, the GG Esprit !!! No luck with my Esprit. Tried the starting in 2nd to see if I could free the clutch. Long run up, but didn't work. Couple of other things to try before it's time to pull away the gear box and have a butchers inside; Clutch release bearing seems the issue or rusted on clutch plate. Sorry I couldn't meet up with you guys. Will try to make the event in Limoge if I can get my car going. Otherwise next Lotus show in the UK for sure. Real bummer I couldn't be at the Classic in my Esprit. Cheers.... PS. If you are still about and wanna come round to Teloché tomorrow, you are welcome
  5. Hi Cliff & GKP. Okay will wander over and see if I can find you on Sunday. Was on the Lotus area again this afternoon. Got talking to some blokes. Explained my problem. It seems now it's either a serious Clutch issue, or perhaps the clutch is just stuck due to water getting in. Tomorrow I'll have another go to get it going. Try starting it in 2nd gear with a long run up. There was only one GG style Esprit on the Lotus patch, at the Classic today, a black S2 World Champion Edition So many nice cars. This event really is better I think more than the 24hrs itself.
  6. Cliff, What car have you come over in? My car when it was working and couple of mates during the 24hrs. I hope I can fix my car tomorrow. Anyone wanna help us out? I'm only 7km from the curcuit. I'll be over on the Lotus patch in the morning.
  7. Hi, Haven't been on this site for ages. Okay I live south of Le Mans, in Teloché. I have a 1984 Esprit Turbo, but just before the Le Mans Classic the clutch is causing me problems. Can't get the car into gear. Have checked all the obvious points (master cylinder, Slave cylinder, rebleed the system, checked oil in the gear box). The clutch wont release. Can get in gear with engine off, but not when engine is in motion. Been along to the event today, but would really appreciate if there are any Esprit experts at the Show who could have look at my car. I might be missing something. Would really like to have my car at the show. There must be over a hundred Elises & Severns, some Europas, Esprit S4, but no GG shape Esprits. Anyone willing to help for a few beers? I'll check the forum later, cheers, Eddie
  8. Hi, thanks for your help. I'm not actually in Scotland, just the car came from there. It was a Murray car. Bought & serviced almost 100% there. Ali did one service, and some other work, via his company SLS. I'm just trying to get an invoice from him relating to this work. I like to keep all the documents in order. Apparently he's a great mechanic, but communication and paper seems not to be his thing. On another note, I found a really nice Esprit S3 shape very late example. Must be one of the last ones I think (Sept 87). I found it for a mate, and he's really happy. Now I'm thinking later I'll get one too. Great car, and special to drive. Cheers...
  9. Hi, Finding it difficult to get in touch with Ali at (Scotish Lotus Specialist). Anyone have his business address, and alternative phone number, than the one on his site? Cheers, Eddie
