State of my rear tyre!

Recommended Posts

My off-side (drivers side) rear tyre looks like this after 3600 miles and three track days.

I was hoping to get another couple of track days out of them as tread depth looks fine and I'm certainly no hooligan on track! Do I need to immediately replace it?

It's only this tyre that has marked up in this manner, the others all look fine. Is it a geo problem that has caused this? The other rear looks okay.

is that not just pick up?  or is it flaky, rubber normal melts, peels, liek on your other side..  might be worth a punt emailing the picture to the tyre manufacture?   i did that on a set of perelli winters that just disintergrated on one shoulder.. got a pair of new ones FOC..

Looks a bit like a delamination of a layer of rubber. Odd that it is only on that one though.

I'd do what Andy said. Send photos to tyre manufacturer. Nothing to lose.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

It does look like delamination, it's like a layer of rubber is peeling off on that one tyre so I assume it's a defect of some description.

I will try emailling a picture to Yokohama and see if I get a response.

Thanks,

Neal.
