OBD2 scan tool for 2001 Esprit V8

Can you please recommend an OBD2 scan tool (probably one that works with iPhone) that allows for reading errors and also viewing extra information (my car only had water temp and fuel gauge)

Where does it connect ? In the back next to battery or inside cockpit ?
