Intermittent double tap required on Apple products

Has anyone else experienced this recently? I have an iPhone and two iPads and it is happening on all three devices. Basically sometimes I tap to open a thread or post once and it opens normally, but then Shortly after I can have a period when I have to tap every TLF link twice before it opens. This situation can reverse within a few minutes. It’s very odd and rather annoying. As far as I can tell, it only seems to happen on TLF of the sites I frequent. E.g. BBC or PistonHeads seem to work normally.

Just to add: I had to press the submit tab twice to post this!
