One issue with the recent articles is that they say the Eagle will be 2009 and the Esprit is pushed abck to 2010 :crybaby:

2010 seems a long way off and there are lots of temptations between now and then - V8 vantage S, Audi R8...

Thats good news - if the Eagle is going to be delivered to customers next year (rather than just launched at a show) then it makes it more likely that the Esprit will be delivered to customers in 2009.

Will the Eagle will be based on the VVA rather than the Elise - the two magazines say different things but as the EVO article is based on an interview hopefully that one is right. Having said that there is not much wrong with the Elise chassis!

I don't know for sure, but why develop the VVA chassis and not use it? Seems wrong to me.

I wonder whether the Lotus Eagle has any relationship to the Proton PM5 prototype? (pics below)..
