Air con gas

So never had the air con re gased since it run out years ago, it then used the old, now illegal, gas. Can the new version gas be put in without changing any valves/joints/seals?

In theory, yes the "a" version can be used (not the really new 2017= version), but it may need a flush of the old oil. The seals (both external and internal) may have dried and perished so it may fail.
