Clutch Lever Failure

On my way back from enjoyable few days in Norfolk I had a sickening 'ping' when pressing the clutch pedal and the unmistakable sound of something hitting the tarmac below the car that told me this was unlikely to be a road-side fix.

Wandering back along the road I retrieved this :-

 

Fatigue failure - perhaps after 25 years of use it is not too surprising.

At least I've now got a good excuse to change out clutch and service a few things whilst I am at it.

Many failed the same way. Fork section thins down and side flanges disappear at this point.

To avoid failures in the future weld  two support flanges to prevent bending of the tip.
