Crown Wheel and Pinion for Europa 5 speed (Type 365-07) gearbox

I need a CW & P for my Europa gearbox Type 365-07. Seemingly unavailable from any of the classic Lotus or Renault suppliers. Can anyone suggest a source?

Mecaparts in France have just made new batch for the Alpine A110 but they unfortunately run in opposite direction. I believe that the Lotus one is only common to the Renault R12 Gordini and R17 Gordini. Has anyone investigated re-manufacture?

Regards,

Pete

Yes and No.

All Renault transaxles (4 and 5 speed) of this period are designed so that the Crown Wheel can be positioned in either side of the casing.

Mount it one side and it drives in one direction, mount it the other side and it drives in the opposite direction.

All 365 box's use the same 34x9 tooth CWP as far as I am aware, it's the gear clusters that vary model by model and the 5th gear ratio that's unique to Lotus.

So the A110 one from Macaparts should fit. But I have to qualify that by saying I've never actually done it.

Further to my previous post.

According to my parts manuals there were 3 different part number sets for just the CWP sets (More if ordering with gear clusters). All fit, the 2 earlier numbers are down as 'use up stock' to be replaced by the later numbers.

For ref

Earliest 77 01 453 193 & 77 01 455 878

next 77 01 453 194 & 77 01 455 879

last 77 01 455 880 & 77 01 455 881

One number is obviously the crown wheel and the other the pinion, but not clear which is which. Only supplied as a matched set anyway.
