Help! Cobra 6422 removal

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Spot of bother here as post holidays we now have a soaked esprit fob (my only one) that is not responding after attempting to dry out and replace battery. I will tell you over a pint one day how it came to be soaked! 😬😆

I located my back up touch pencil (also only one) but it doesn’t work.

Upshot is I can’t start car.

I’ve had useful chats with Steve Williams and SJ Sportscars but it seems I now need a cobra specialist to step in.

The Esprit is a work of art in its own right, but I do like to drive it..!

Does anyone have a contact or recommendation who may be able to help? I am near high Wycombe bucks and ideally seeking mobile assistance to save on transportation costs.

thank you all! 🙏🤞

Apparently the alarm only has 4 wires going to it and it's pretty easy to bypass. I think Jon Rotherham at PNM may know how to do this but not 100% sure.

So is your car cranking or is it completely dead? What happens when you put the touch key near the receiver on the centre console, any clicks or noises?

If it's the alarm and you have to bypass it, what will you do for the future, remove the old alarm? If so, can I have the old siren off you please?

BTW, I like your wheels! I have Saturns on mine but I am looking into aftermarket wheels.

I have a set of fitting instructions and circuit diagram for a Cobra 7928. Not for your exact model but a very similar earlier model and the wiring is the same for most cobra alarms so might help.

It's a pdf so can't upload directly and don't want to on a public forum, but if you PM me your email I'll send it on to you.
