I guess it is important to find one with two pumps (as original). The fuel amount for the V8 under full load needs a good fuelflow, right!? Im not sure how great the flow rate in this system is, but you can PM to Johan Hybinette and other *Specialists* in some kind of fuel tuning. Maybe a inline single pump from the aftermarket sector can also work well.... .

BUMP:

Wondering if anyone has some more recent info on cross reference details for fuel pumps.

I've just got back from a long fast run and my primary fuel pump is making a loud drone'ing noise.

In true british money saving thinking; rather than just replacing the pump for new, is it feasable to just swap electrical connectors of the fuel pumps? My understanding of the dual fuel pumps is that the second pump is only used for max power and therefore not used as much and as such the primary pump (if overheating) will not be used as much and should be ok for some time?

Cheers

second gets in for starting and for the 'full power/fuel dumping' situations (boost..)

And from what i see the different hight level is just to make the package a little smaller (you can tilt it if you lift it out of the tank) -so try the rewiring and you will be the first to know if it makes any difference. What you can do first is to measure the flow rate/pressure if you manually activate the pumps one after the other via the relay-station in rear luggage (RH side)

The guys from a BOSCH Service Center told me, that it is possible to decipher the BOSCH part no., if the Lotus part no. is at hand.

So, look up the Lotus part no. and call a Bosch Service Center. If they have a pump, they

The fuel pumps for the Esprit V8 are made by AC and are imported into the UK by ATL Fuel Systems. Their part # is KS153. ATL do not deal with the public direct, but sell through Demon Tweeks. They recognise the ATL #KS153. Both pumps are identical - just mounted at different heights.

I have used these pumps and the only difference is slight size of the electrical connectors - but easily modified. Running the pumps without fuel overheats the nylon brush mounting and jams the brushes so losing contact with the comutator.

It took me quite a while to sort that out when I wanted some so I hope that helps.

Actually, I'm trying to source the part for my mechanic. The Lotus OEM part is almost $1,000 USD. I found another web site that referenced a Carter P74006. However, that was for an S4, not a V8.

You might want to rule out the relay first as some time ago there was a post on

the yahoo group that found it to be the cause of an intermitten problem. Also

see this even though it is written about a 4 Cyl Esprit

I had a set of V8 tanks from 98 onwards complete with pumps and senders. I gave the lot to PNM Engineering and they still have them. Their contact details are mail@pnmengineering.com or +44 151 630 6101.

Replace with a '95 Corvette fuel pump, Bestest#BE16008 or BE3270.  The strainer, plug, receiver match up precisely.  There is a very slight difference in the upper plastic but 'doesn't matter.  Do not use the Walbro GSS 340 - it takes major modification and costs the same as the Corvette.  Use the steel clamps provided and not the plastic factory squeeze clamps.  Cost about $70
