Red Esprit on M25

I keep seeing a red Esprit on the M25 (around junctions 16-15, anticlockwise) around 07:30ish during the week.

Anybody here?

Yay! That'd be me. Commuting from Watford to BA's HQ at Heathrow. Often car share with the missus as she works there too, but her shift pattern has gone a bit mad so the Esprit gets to go out 2-3 times a week now.

Next run is Friday - gissa toot! And thanks for breaking my 'spotted' duck.

How do you get on commuting in an Esprit?

I've been thinking about one as a second car (technically first car as I use the bike most of the time but you know what I mean) with the occassional commute when the bike is broke (pretty often then, it's been the most unreliable bike I have ever owned).

Bear in mind I'm fanatically biased (probably many other fun cars to commute in) but I love it! It actually makes going to work worthwhile.

Important to be away by 0700 if possible, as you don't really want to be stuck in heavy traffic. Clutch is pretty harsh, and you don't get to open it up much. Lucky to get 20-22mpg on a run like that - particularly painful when my daily drive manages 50mpg. But it's worth it just for the grin factor.

Interesting too that Lotii and other fun metal have started to gather around my normal parking spot - I now regularly park close to Exige, Elise and Elan models, together with Subarus and Porsches etc. Must find out who they are sometime and organise a meet.
