mine reads 82-90degrees..

82-90 is perfect.

The car should always be at least 82deg when warmed up. If it is running at below 82, then it is time for a new thermostat. Anything less than 82 deg, and the ECU will limit boost.

Mine reads 90 max during the traffic jams, but my friend's Esprit is always hovering around 95-98 irregardless. Somehow I test driven it & it seems that the lotus 4 cylinder tends to perform better at higher temp in terms of the pickup & instant power. Both our cars are on standard boost settings.

Reading are fine. Once in a while it can get quite hot till the fans kick in though. Sometimes it worries many people as the temp shoots up and we sit and hope the fans kick in and the temp drops to normal. A lot of us force the fans to kick in by turning on the A/C if we lose our nerve that the fans will kick in by themselves. The fans always have turned on but they still make many nervous during the wait.
