Red S3 Turbo on low loader.

Overtook a foreign recovery truck last night on the Dartford bridge at 5:50pm, it was heading for Dover i reckon. It had an S3 Esprit Turbo in Red with Black interior, the reg was A408 LLL and it had the original London Lotus plates on it, also in tow was a Marcos Mantula on the trailer behind, i managed to take a pic on my phone.

I wonder if its from a collection as it looked dusty but otherwise in good order, just in need of some TLC, slightly surprised why it might have been heading abroad though?

I was trying to work out what country the low loader was from, but didn't recognise any of the names at all, but i was also trying to avoid the caravan in front of me as the tolls were quite chokka.

I wonder if anyone knows of this Esprit and its story, very unusual to see an unmolested version with original plates, felt quite sorry for it up there......

Good morning, we are very pleased to find us on the english lotus forum. We would kindly introduce ourselfs: My name is Stefan, I work for a germany company which is called Motoren Ritterbecks.

We are Lotus enthusiasts and our main aim is to keep the classic Lotus car, especially the Esprit, alive.

We are specialised in restoring classic cars, mainly Lotus cars. We do this in a very good and helpfull cooperation with Mike Taylor from Lotusbits. The cars spotted were stored at Lotusbits for a couple of weeks and thanks to Mike, we had time enough to organise the pick - up.

We are currently rebuilding a classic Lotus Esprit S2 from new. Our aim is to race with this car on german classic race competitions in group 5.
