Been in to Pauls today and shed a few pounds. Excellent service. He's hoping to have the V8 Rover powered Esprit there, together with some interesting race stuff.

He's bought 500 burgers and 10 gallon of Speckled Hen so we'd better be hungry and thirsty (I might have made the last bit up!) :huh:

Quick update:- went to Paul Matty's yesterday, he is really positive about this event, had a look at his field at the back of the workshops, we can easily get 50+ Esprits on it might have to double park a few..

he has a few plans for the day which will be reaveled near the date,

had quick look round the show room , nice black 96 s4 and the vulcan grey turbo..

also said he was expecting some jurno fom Autocar, i think he said, next week to do a feature on the Esprit for a future issue

Watch this thread for futher updates..

Andys bought that S3se I was gonna buy from Nick Warren so no he's not stuck a duck tail on the back.

Would e interested in what u've had to do to the engine Andy as from waht I was told there were a few issues.

Hope the project is going well.......

Not sure if i'm gonna make it to this event, got my car boked in for an MOT thins Friday but its gonna take a good long while to get her sorted!!! :(

Total bill is bigger than I had anticipated so I may have to have a quiet month! :lol:

I'll endeavour to get to this - I'm in work that day but can shoot over for an hour or so............Will be in the Alfa though as the cars still off road - maybe I can negotiate a price for the C Service and Brakes overhaul!!! :lol:

I know that for most of us the journey is not a great one but are we going to meet up and arrive en masse?

We could do the usual meeting places (M6 jct 14, Hilton Park and Frankley).

Glyn/Lisa..........any idea which route you'll be taking? If you were thinking A50, I could guide you in to meet us at jct 14 or even meet you at en route.

What's the preference folks.

Paul Matty Sportscars 'Esprit Day'

Saturday 22nd July 2006

Paul Matty, well known independent lotus dealer and specialist, has offered to host a meet for Esprit owners and their cars, we can all park on his large field at the back of his showroom. This will be on Saturday July 22nd 2006. Turn up from 11am onwards.

Whilst this event will suit owners from the Midlands, it is open to all. Paul has offered to provide food and drinks and will also be showing some single seater lotus race cars. He will also try and get some other interesting cars he knows to come to the meet, including an Esprit with a Rover V8 engine. An opportunity to browse his well stocked showroom and maybe visit the parts department.

Sorry guys I think you're going to have to cross me off the list, i'm not driving my car anywhere but back down :( It has a boost problem (won't go over 0.3) and has sprung a leak! :( He's going to sort it but leaves me once again a Metro driver :)

This will be the fourth summer I've owned the car and the fourth summer I've missed.

I reckon 25 miles from Hilton Park to Paul Matty's. So, how about 10.30am at Hilton Park?

Anyone else want to meet there (or elsewhere) first?

it takes 20 minutes from hilton to frankley then 10 to mattys from there.

thats if it was a sunday, unfortunatley its a saturday so anything could happen with the traffic :)

if we say 10.50 at frankley?

really hopeing the clutch master cylinder comes friday so i can fit it before,

i would much prefer to have a smooth gear change before the event.
