  1. Amazing to see 015 has turned up. That was Hew Dundas' car - as per Roo's comments elsewhere on the forum (the Missing Esprit's): #015 was Hew Dundas, he kept it unto 1982 when he traded it for a Ferrari. Blew the engine on the way to Scotland. He also had a rear tyre blow damaging some bodywork. Hew said it had 12.000 miles when he traded it in. He has no record of where the car went.
  2. They keep turning up - I've asked to poster to try to find out the original Reg. as the p/plate is not on the register list - https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=10230805377775298&set=pcb.10159815078036769
  3. Shared on FB if someone can grab and upload the image as I don't seem to be able to - The Albert Hall Launch party - is that Alan Jones?
  4. I remember me and Paul (former owner of 017) talking to Clive at what I think was Stoneleigh and him telling us he had a loft full of stuff (inc.Essex!) back at East Carleton Manor! Pretty sure Steve's already got at least one. Has anyone ever found out why Thieme called his business Essex btw? I've always thought it gave him a good excuse to write SEX on the sidepods 😛
  5. Some great additions all as not been on for a while. IIRC that's Dave Minter from Lotus with Don McLaughlin and Sir Roger.
  6. Saw that Steve. I doubt it went for the asking price but hopefully gone to a good home.
  7. Bibs think I've hit my attachment limit - can i delete old attachments?
  8. Great stuff - wish I was able to have been there. Looking good Mr K! I bumped in to Johnny Herbert a few months ago as local to me in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
  9. .....or this one. Paul had a great canvas made up from one of the pics C&S sent to him. And yes that's Essex 017. I remember Paul was so disappointed in the 308 - http://www.lotusespritworld.com/ERoadtests/ClassicnSportscar_Aug95.html
  10. I think its worth adding these here. Very few photos that show both Colin and Enzo Ferrari together - Enzo Ferrari leads John Cooper, Raymond Mays, Colin Chapman and Lofty England in complaint at the 1960 Italian Grand Prix at Monza. They collectively argued that the banking – which had been reinstated by the organisers to capitalise on the Ferrari’s superior straight-line speed – was too dangerous. This one includes Mrs Laura Ferrari, Dino's Mother - And on the same subject - Colin and Jimmy with Ferruccio at Sant Agata -
  11. ACBC trusting Jimmy at the Climax works in Coventry in January 1964 - I think that's John Cooper as well lower right -
  12. Love the BB and the 365 GT4 before - I wrote to Maranello Concessionaires in the late 70s as a spotty kid and they sent me a fabulous poster of one. Must dig it out as I'm sure its back home somewhere in my Mum's loft. Defo one on my Lotto list - Ohhh and I do like a non-Red Fezza as well.....
  13. I recall Peter Warr wasn't a fan to start with however I did not realise he'd broken the lap record on that first test! No wonder they snapped him up. A great driver. Very touching when he choked up talking about Colin.
