Timing belt cover

Hi all, did a 907 engine in the S1 have a cover over the timing belt? And a cover over the spark plugs?

Mine's not got neither. Pretty sure it's how they came. Having said that there isn't reallysuch thing as a standard S1!

No, not on the S1. Come to think of it,I don't think I have ever seen one on a 4 cyl Esprit.

As for the cover over the spark plugs my S2 had that. I think it was for radio interference suppression and I removed mine for easier service. (BTW:made no difference to my radio) It was a long plate of metal with spring clips that grabbed between the 2 cam towers and had a couple of knobs to grab and remove it. Not sure if any S1 cars ever had it.

Cover was for front engined cars I beleive. Elite, Eclat, Sunbeam etc.
