Heating Temperature Knobs

Hi guys, im new on here.

I just bought a lotus today, and my temperature knob is stuck on the cold side. And won't move to the Hot ( red) side. The cold side works perfect but the hot side doesnt. Any clues to how to fix this or whats wrong?

Apologies for the delay in responding.

The chances are that it is the flap on top of the heater box that has seized.

You can usually access the heater box via the nearside access panel. You need to get somebody to try to turn the knob whilst you soak it in large amounts of WD40. Sometimes they free off but sometimes they don't. Too much yanking can also snap the flap mountings so be careful.

Good luck with getting it free, a new heather box is 'orribly expensive.

I've found my car is doing this now - can't get the knob twisted round past half way to heat, so will give this a try!
