>>Eclat Excel 2.2, make yourself known on the day old chap

I've got an Excel SE too, had it for nearly 10 years now :-)

... how will we recognise you (or your car!?). We'll be there in a black sport 350 - JPS colours!

Cheers,

Steve

Posted this on Unity too. These are the Van sites so might

not be there, i mean it's not like they would go out on a bank

holiday weekend and catch people unfamiliar with that stretch

of road...

..is it?

For info only:

Mobile camera sites on latest download show 3 sites on the M4

between J13 newbury and J17 Chippenham, I assume your run

down would be M4 so be careful as they now police the M4

at 70mph. Then on the dual carridgeway from the M4 towards

chippenham there is a further mobile camera position.

Be careful out there guys. :)

You will see Rob C's white sport 350 there with the south wales lotus club tent.

I suggest we park with or near them on the grass there, have done so before

and the esprits tend to cluster around here.

I thank you.

Tomorrow... madonna and child! :)

I like your Excel. Did you get this from the Portway Motor Centre (or something) last year?? I wanted a peek but it was a bit far away from me. I'm going to C Combe as much for the Elite/Eclat register gig as the Esprits as I really fancy one as a commuter-car one day.

In the garage no-one can hear you scream

Guys, I've popped a few other piccies on that MSN Space thingy I have.

MSN Web Clicky Thingy

Please ignore the other cr*p on there but the Type 89 piccies "may" show a bit more of the car.

Picked the car up a couple of weeks ago locally, went bang on the dizzy, am being sponsored at 1p per mile to go to Le Mans in it by some of the MLOC.net guys.

Just did a run out today over 100 miles in total, if we get to Castle Coombe and back without failure, I'm doing Le Mans in her for the 50th anniversary.

Anyway, lets see if I make CC first !

Sorry about the robbed bits of info on the MSN spave, just wanted to keep some info about my future Esprit purchase.

Must sell or swap out my 98 TVR Chimaera 450 first, open to offers, then get back properly into the Lotus fold.

Were grouping up at J2 M42 at 8:30 for a "convoy" down.

When I say grouping, I mean my mate Pete in his Exige and me in the old girl.

Anyone else coming down that way from the Midlands ?

Aiming to arrive CC around 10:00am

That's a very rare beasty you have there.  Produced from October 1982 for a year or so wasn't it?  Looks excellent and like the grey valance B) .

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Not a Vulcan Grey valance though Mark

Someone told me it's Gunmetal, but I think thats a colour used on later cars, not sure.

It's a non wide body, teeny boot lid, front badged Eclat, side badged Excel, registered October 1983 2.2 912 lump 5 speed mongrel.

Anyone got one of those lovely 4 tube manometers and prepared to demo the carb balancing act on the day, I'll do the mucky bit with the spanners ?

How about an informal sort of meet and greet time on the day?

hug.gif

I'm not suggesting holding hands and that!,

just say midday at a certain point maybe?

How about somewhere near my car?, i only

suggest this as you all know the reg by now

so it should be easy for you to find (see my

map on earlier post too).

While a lot of us already know each other,

there are people coming who are meeting

for the first time, and it's well easy to miss

people at things like this...

What you think?
