Not having a good run

Recommended Posts

Well after the trial and tribulations of changing the water pump and timing belt, then discovering the expansion tank has also sprung a leak, I finally got to the master cylinder.

The kit was already on the bench, pulled it apart, inspected the bore, packed it up and took to our local hydrophilic specialist, the bore was so badly scored it was a waste of time putting the kit through it, it needs to bored and sleeved.

Now what else can go wrong before I finally finish these quick, now 3 weeks jobs.

I know you don't want to hear this, but that's why I don't fit repair kits!

Roger

I learnt the hard way on other cars. Repair kits are just not worth bothering with compared to the cost of new given the time and hassle to fit.

Roger! Refer to any of my last 2 years of topic posts about what can go wrong next! LOL! Slowly sorting out what I hope is the last in a long litany of failures and catastrophe's with my beloved Esprit! Hopefully the engine will be coming out in the coming weeks. 1/2 way pulled! Keep hopes up, your problems could be far more serious, as my case is!

Best,

Artie

Well the cylinder is back, I'll put it on this morning, a silver lining, they usually quote the whole job, re-bore, sleeve and new kit, all in one, but because I supplied the kit, they took some off, more than kit cost me. :animier:
