ALTERNATIVES to original ACCUMULATOR GM

Dear Friends,

I have just known that a GERMAN COMPANY , HANSA FLEX (www.hansa-flex.com) can recharge ABS accumulators for 25 Euro

They also sell accumulators for 125 euro charged with 90 bar (1200 psi) of Nitrogen (100 Euro empty) , you will need an adapter to fit it on your ESPRIT (M14x.15 mm bolt is on original accumulator).

I just boght 3 pieces of those accumulatos, I will let you know if they are 100% good for Esprit (mine is an Esprit S4, 1994)

Part njumbers I bought are:

Membrane accumulator : HK OLM-0.32-210A

adapter XVR NW 03 HS 1/2 ED

Another company in SPAIN (HYDRAMATIC.COM) sells same for 65 Euro. In any case you need an interface bolt because on those you have a GAS thread (3/4 or 3/8 or even 1/2 gas).

Also this is rechargeble!!

I HAVE RECEIVED ACCUMULATORS FROM BOTH COMPANY AND BOTH ARE WORKING FINE! SO ANY ACCUMULATOR (0.25 or 0.32 litres) precharged at 90 bar is suitable for the car. It's a simple accumulator... nothing special!!

The ATE Teves II accumulator is a suitable replacement with the correct M14 x 1.5 thread and square shoulder for the O ring seating, 210 bar rated and 0.25 l capacity.

 

I have verified this against an early '90s Ford Granada / Scorpio accumulator. As well as on Fords, the Teves II can be found on a wide variety of cars such as Porsche, VW, Saab, Buick, Peugeot and many others I expect.

I used the range rover P38 model unit as a direct replacement. .using a copper washer to ensure a seal its a perfect replacement...and not,pricey too..

I too used the Range Rover unit (ebay) but there is no nut on the end to tighten it and because it's fatter, the ABS bracketry was removed to get a good grip on it. If there is a next time (!!), I would prefer to pay extra for a unit that could be screwed in/out easily. Also had Greenstuff pads fitted and the brakes are now awesome - the best the car has ever been in 10 years. Now with 1 bar uprated turbo boost, de-catted Larini sports exhaust + K & N, the car is blindingly quick to both stop and go. If I ever thought about selling, that's gone forever 'cos it's awesome.
