Cam cover torque settings?

Do the cam covers have to be torqued down? if so to what? I seem to remember reading somewhere 8NM but can someone confirm

Had to go and buy a 1/4" torque wrench just for this as my 1/2" one started at 22nm. Got a nice little one from B&Q of all places for just over £20. Seems to have done a good job as so far no leaks.
