rh tank weeping bit...

Afternoon fellas

I've finally got the car running.., love it!

Thing is I have noticed a leek from the rh tank a couple of days ago, the only thing I have done is move some wires at the top. The tank looks like it has been repaired before also it seems to be coming from the rear at the bottom. Is that were the fuel return runs or will the rank ne weeping, cheers Dean

Oh, it's an s3. When I Jack the back of the car up it stops?

Does it really stop or just the drip/ weep moves to a place you cannot yet see?

The only thing I can suggest is remove the tank, inspect it and if there is a leak use POR15 tank sealer unless you want to replace it.

It's seems to stop when jacked up. I wonder if it's a hole half way up the tank?

Trouble is, if it's a hole it doesn't matter where it is, and more will be on the way. You'll need it out to effect any reasonable repair.

And, if you don't want to go through the nausea of taking the tanks out again...when they start leaking once more...bite the bullet and put some new alloy ones in to replace the originals.
