Yes, I read a bunch of poppycock on how this product was essential for Microsoft, but not for users. How the OS was irrelevant now it was all about the data. I'm guessing the geniuses that write that stuff have never worked in the corporate world.

But I'm with you, should it work half as well as it seems it might, I'll be ditching the iPad for something that can actually do work.

Exactly that. I've got an Asus Transformer which, with the keyboard and trackpad I thought I'd be able to use but in reality, the keyboard is mainly used to angle the screen.

Having a powerful PC running windows and full fat programmes in that form factor is very appealing.

Yes using a tablet to write programs that run on a tablet is brilliance for me. I had one of the XP tablets and liked it quite well. If it had more power and a touch screen I'm sure I'd still be using it today.

I also have the ASUS transformer, and really like Android for a tablet operating system.

I recently tried the latest release of Windows 8 (on my pc) and hated!!!!! the interface!!!

I could see it being better in a tablet form factor, but it sucked for a desktop with a mouse.
