Nope, but have tried on a couple of occasions. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but have been underwhelmed by their service.

In contrast, have always been really impressed with the service and prices offered by mytyres*. Would also recommend Camskill for tyres - in fairness that's been for my 'main' car; not sure what they're like for Esprit fitments.

Mainly I thought they were playing dirty over the discount thing, but it's also put me up the wrong-un cus I can't use my non-road legal Esprit atm due to the front treads.

LEW's used them 3 times with nothing buy perfect service. We've also heard of plenty of other people using them without issue.

If you want I can look into the problem for you. As for the discount, if you're using the website you need to put the code in.

It's a big poor slagging off a company having only used them once and had one problem. Thought there were a few rules just introduced about this. One employees cocks up and the company get bashed on here isn't on, Especially as it stays on the forum forever! If they continually do it, fare enough.

Email me and let's find out what the problem is. Hopefully working with suppliers and specialist will help improve service and get a better deal for everyone.

I've used MyTyre for the rears last year, no problems.

Used BlackCircle a few weeks ago for my Fronts, bit cheaper than mytyre with everything included in the price. Also got the discount, I used the website but them phoned them to check it out just in case. I didnt have any problems at all and the tyres arrived and where fitted on the dates agreed.

just my 2p, given the recent suggestions on parts suppliers and the forum.

In all fairness here I think Jon is fine with what he is saying he has given them plenty of chances to rectify the problem and has then given a account of what has happened, I personaly see nothing wrong with this type of critisism.

If you get poor service from a company then your hardly going to try them again are you!

I tried them once and yes i got the discount and found them ok only problem was i could get the tyres cheaper direct from the garage that was going to fit them so guess which I took.

I must admit, if I had been treated in the same way as Jon I'd never call them again. I have a similar absence of tolerance for the whole "we'll get back to you" thing...

I never heard back from a certain south western company the other day and it left me well pissed off. I had to call them days later  She was friendly and courteous and apologetic... but I didn't call in the first place to get an apology, I called for SERVICE!

Have you read the Forum policy regarding dealers/traders etc thread?

http://www.glcforum.com/esprit/forums/inde...?showtopic=5107

Hi Kato

As a fact yes i have read it a number of times and just to check i have been and read it again and i would quote this section

"If you had not such great service, we want to hear that too. That means that the dealer may well have a chance to address their service which is to all of our benefit and if not then we know to steer clear of them (see what I did there!) until they do improve which is again to our benefit as a whole.

If your personal experience in contrary to what some has posted and you feel justified in doing so, please feel free to air your views."

I get the impression you feel Jon has breached this however I would say he has done exactly what Bibs has put in the section I quoted.

He has clearly stated that he has given them a chance to respond and that they did not do so, only at this point has he posted his views.

The ability to say that you have received poor service is in my opinion one of the benefits of a community if the traders all know that if they do give poor service and not rectify it, that the community will be told it can surely only benefit the community.

If however I have interpreted this policy incorrectly than i stand happily to be corrected by a mod or yourself.

Glyn I agree very much - people will post their veiws and the 'truth will out'.

If someone posts up "Company 'X' were rubbish" and everyone who responds has nothing but praise then it becomes self evident, no matter how much the initial poster bitched, that their experience was not typical and so the company benefit / become exhinerated - just as publicly.

If you get a mixed bag of response (like the JAE thread) then you think there may be some substance to it and may choose to either chase that company harder or avoid them

If everyone agrees and I'm thinking of a certain Sports Cars vendor, then we all pretty much know to keep them at arms' length!

* - Jon - I'm not implying that "bitched' remark was aimed at you - I'm speaking generally!! ...or am I?!?!:angry:

Don't agree that this deserves a negative thread. Would have been ok if it was just a Black Circle thread, but I don't believe it helps bashing businesses who offer Esprit owners benefits unless it's really justified.

Building a health community is what's best for all owners. And as this thread has shown so far, there's plenty of people who have been more than happy with their service. People are more likely to read the title and remember, than read through every post to get a balance view.

More than happy for people to give there opinions, but bashing in the tiltle of the thread isn't the best way forward in my opinion.

I can see your point Kato maybe for this type of thread there could be a policy of just putting the trader name in the heading and then a + or - in the sub heading.

This would mean that there was no real byas to the heading but on a search you could quickly see all the +ves and -ves.

I think you should pick this one up and speak to Black Circles yourself as Jono has raised the issue that there's a guy there denying any knowledge of the discount for Esprit owners that you've worked hard on to obtain for us.

If you could report back to us their response and what they intend to do about Jon's order then it will hopefully demonstrate to us all that they are dedicated to customer service and will have their name publicly cleared.

Just a thought but understand if you're too busy etc

No problems I can see.

The forum is for people's opinions and we've had lost of them in this thread. Your experiences are exactly that and I'm glad we've had the chance to share them along with other peoples

Jono, you and I are on the same wave length, I get frustrated by people treating me as thought they're doing me a favour and not a service. I've bleeted on about this before so I'm not going to now.

I can however HIGHLY recommend www.tyretraders.co.uk. They wouldn't offer a LEW discount scheme as they said the same thing about already being the cheepest, but then they didn't promise to in the first place. They also phoned me back 30 mins after placing a telephone order to say they've just spoken to Goodyear and the tyres I ordered weren't the ones I wanted and so they went ahead and changed my order. That's service - no cocking about, no taking liberties, no waiting for you to chase them.

Jon,

I think you were spot on to post your experience. I didnt think your sub title was that bad but, hey if thats the way we now should post then I think thats fine. Your first post on the sequence of events with BC and why you feel the need to post was fair.

If anything we need much more of this, good and bad. After all this type of feedback on service is for all our future benifit. As long as we all recognise this it wont be a problem to post our experiences.

So thanks for shareing Jon. Personally from this, I probably would use BC again, but I now wont take any sh1t if they fail to call me back.

Thanks Jon.

LOL believe me that wasn't a bad booooo (for those that didn't see it and care, it wasn't actually in caps which makes it a subdued booooo tounge.gif) - tbh I thought me calling them 'winkers' was worse laugh4.gif

Actually the girly I delt with at 1st was very friendly, infact she said to me "I better not take *so and so's* commision for the sale" bless her, at least she might have GOT the sale - loved the Scottish accent too, mebbe I ring her up again ?

Anyways....the idea of the post wasn't to make people not use BC or put ppl off at all - even I don't have that much influence ( :) ) - it was just venting a little frustration and also (mainly) highlighting the fact over the discount, which really pee'd me off esp. as the guy was ready to take my credit card # and when I mentioned 10% from LEW he was like...

"oh err umm I eerr need, yeah I need to make sure those prices were ummm right, call you back in 5 mins" - clonk.

Even though he'd just e-mailed a quote through

Sorry but that was a deliberate 'I dont want to let you have the discount'...might look stupid but I wasn't actually born yesterday !

Punch it in on the net and it'll probably be fine, but they dont do T1-Rs for the V8 wheels for web purchase which is why I had to speak to a 'computer says no' person. In the mean time no tyres, car's off road (dont fancy running the risk of a blow out / 6 points and a fine) where I really wanted to use it this weekend........where's my claw hammer :o
