Well after 10 years of ownership my power steering pump was making an odd noise(more so than usual) ,so i went through all the scenarios ,new rack,new pump etc ,then after reading my own 'tag' i checked the fluid level and as luck would have it it was down a tadge not much but just enough to cause the noise. Topped up checked for leaks (none apparent) started engine swung the steering around no noise and a happy bunny to boot,to be honest its never been that quiet but i just put it down, to 'it has always done that' and yes i do feel a bit of a donkey.
