reusing old cambelt

Is it possible to reuse a cambelt once fitted to a car? I had mine replaced in a service a couple of weeks ago on my chevy and it needs to come off again for some other work. I'd rather not pay for it again if I don't need to

If it's a recent belt then it's absolutely fine.  Best to refit in the same direction though.

Just as long as it doesn't get damaged during the remove refit process..excessive twisting or nicking the belt on the pulleys, for example. Definitely get it back on the same way round, as Gary says!

Timmy no worries there, even Lotus in the manual specified typical frequencies for used belts
