S1 / S2 Silencer Internals

Recommended Posts

Wondering if anyone has a picture of the internals of an S1 S2 silencer. I would like to make a more free flowing silencer. Buying one from the UK is expensive, so I was thinking I would cut the original one open, gut it and straight pipe it from inlet to outlet then close it up, thus keeping the original look. As I have a federal spec silencer I'm sure it's more restrictive than UK/ROW. Cheers.

If you are going to gut it Gavin, just cut it open along the seam and go from there? Unless you need to know to cut it open?

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

I was looking at replacing mine with a Magnaflow as well. Which one did you use Ken? I was going to try the 7" single in/dual out.

What did you use for tips?

sorry for the late reply,,my magnaflow is single in single out,,had a muffler shop make me a tailpipe ,my tailpipe goes to twin tips,,makes it nice because you can slide the tailpipe in,out and twist it  to get it to line up perfect in the valance,,my valence is currently off,so when i get home tday i,ll take a pic and get the part number,,,

Thanks Ken, think I'll do something very similar. Do you remember the muffler part#? Or if you can give me the dimensions I can look it up.
