Help removing the boot floor please

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have removed the boot floor to get access to the gearbox etc. several times but have always just lifted it up from the back and put a piece of wood against it to hold it up (a bit like lifting the boot lid).

I have not been able to see how to disconnect all the wiring to the coil and solenoids etc. on the right side so that I can lift the floor out completely. I know there is a connector block in there somewhere but I have been unable to get to it. Can someone give me some pointers as to where it is exactly and how to disconnect it without breaking any fingers?. It's an '88 Turbo by the way!

Thanks.

Richard

Connectors are on the right side, behind the airbox, and around the air hoses.

The connectors have a clip on each side, usually takes two flathead screwdrivers to release the clips.

Just to clarify, you need to remove the rear quarter trim on the righthand side as you look at the car from the rear. The connecters are down there around the location of the fuel filler. Disconnect them and then they poke through the grommet and you can lift the floor away.

I just did it myself 2 days ago, the connectors are below the airintake hose so you have to remove it to gain much easier acces. One connector (2pin) was close to the ECU. Don't worry about marking them as they are all different. I found also 2 more unused connectors. Hope this helps.

Seems a bit drastic but i cut the hole box loose from the boot floor

but then ! i needed to relocate the box because of the viper 2 airbox and 100mm gauges

it is easy if you have to be down there

rens

researche is something i do when i don't know what the hell i'm doing
