All round good condition but needs a few days sorting out!!

 

Why not spend a few days and sort ot out ?

 

What is it with Excels?

Later shape bonnet might suggest it's been in an accident hence the need for new paint.

Few days, yep, maybe, 24 hours in a day, perhaps a month of 24 hours/ day would do it.

 

Bazza, give it was Calypso red, it needed paint soon after the warranty ended, having said that, it is looking familiar in a "I think I noticed it on eBay" way, mainly things like the interior (condition and colour as it's unusual). I don't recall seeing it with damage but damage could have been any time  from early 90s onwards.

I just thought it seems a bit odd having the revised 1989 onwards bonnet on a 1986 car.

Yes it is a bit odd but any bonnets replaced by a dealer after the revised bonnets came out tended to be the revised type, as they ceased making the earlier type. Even something as simple as the bobbins causing damage could have resulted in a replacement bonnet.
