  2. This is a new venue, and it is still in Hertfordshire (just). I asked @Rudi K and @thebartman if either could organise a breakfast in Buckinghamshire as they come from a long way to the meetings and we have a few other members located in Bucks. We don't have to book as it is a first come first served. It opens at 8:30, and looks to have plenty of parking, so I'd suggest meeting up just before 8:30. The address is: Ashridge House, Ashridge, Berkhamsted HP4 1NS
  3. Not a new film - but Battle of Britain is on Amazon Prime at the moment. Watch The Battle of Britain | Prime Video (amazon.co.uk) "Silence in Polish"
  4. Bullion coins are both VAT & GCT exempt as they are legal tender. All That Investors Need to Know About Gold and Tax | The Royal Mint
  5. No probs - I'm about an hour away, so anytime after say 10/11am would be fine by me.
  6. I might be able to come up on Monday. The Coffee House Cambridge (132 Wulfstan Way, Cambridge CB1 8QJ) looks reasonably close by. Don't want to pay exorbitant hospital car park charges.
  7. if it is the tailgate strut - SJS have them.
  8. WGC for me. We had a meeting last Sunday over at North Weald. May's will hopefully be over in the Buckinghamshire direction as we have a number of people who come from there and have a long drive to Herts/Essex. There's a BBQ at the end of June which is a great day out.
  9. @gamaphobe Hi John we have an monthly meet up in the area. I've added you to the PM list. Whereabouts in Herts are you?
  10. @bogle - I read at the start that they had proper mobile crematoriums where they just bunged the dead (or maybe not so dead) in so as to avoid having to send them home. @Bibs - that's my view on the numbers.
  11. That's only counting the ones that they have buried back in a graveyard. I don't think recovering soldiers, whether dead or injured is a top priority, plus the mobile crematorium doesn't leave anything to bury - and of course not much left from an exploding tank.

  13. 1st image - car is LHD - wiper on passenger side. @ 8:21 video is The early Jeremy Clarkson is John Bolster. Car is LHD - @ 23:20 you can see the gear knob and his right hand goes to it.
  14. Paying 10.2% interest, yet bought 3 years ago - when interest rates were around 0%. Guess she had a very poor credit rating.
  15. Please click through to the event below as replies here don't get read.
  16. Yup, it is one of the highlights of year. After last year's clashes with holidays, and so was cancelled, this year it is in June. Please put your name down as soon as possible for this event, and please do not leave it until the last minute as Dave & Megan really need to know numbers. Bring your favourite booze and something to cremate on the BBQ, Dave & Megan will supply beer, soft drinks and salad, bread etc. - I'll be bringing some exotic meats and exotic booze - the more the merrier. Stay over if you want to camp and enjoy a BBQ breakfast. As usual, the address will be sent in a private PM a couple of days before the event.
  17. Someone has installed a double DIN fold out for an Esprit. I use a similar one as @CarBuff when hiring a car abroad (this from Amazon)- and attach a 8 inch tablet to it (big screen, no phonecalls) - using HERE WeGo for everywhere but Europe as it can be used offline with downloadable maps, and CoPilot (paid for) for Europe as I like the view ahead function. HERE WeGo has the added benefit of Android Auto and you can save waypoints in a collection. Used it 100% for my recent 2000 mile USA trip.
  18. That sounds like a clever update.
  19. Never stuck the holder on the windscreen in any car. In my Esprit & Excel I usually stick it on the quarter light - but you have to get the right holder as some will take the phone too close to the steering wheel. I've moved recently to having an adapter to fit into the CD player with a magnet - and a tablet will fit there.
  20. I wouldn't look at SA. It has been going downhill for 20 years, and is a bit of a powder leg waiting to explode. Too many promises of what freedom would be that haven't been delivered. I would look at other bits of Africa, Zambia in particular, this is the current up coming country, have been twice in the last year, and probably back there in May. Would also look at Uganda, where I lived for 11 years, but only once the current regime has changed as, again, it might become nasty.
  21. We heard about it right at the start, since then nothing. There have been TV ads about it on every night during the NCAA basketball while we have been here in the USA.
