New car, kerbed a wheel already!

Two days in and absolutely loving the new car! I've already managed to kerb the near side rear though AAARRGGHH!! (and not my fault, honest. It was one of those narrow lane, oncoming car things!)

Anyway, does anyone know if diamond cut wheels can be refurb end, and if so the best place to get it done??

We use a place near York that Kia Motors uses for all of it's Diamond cut alloys. You have to send them off though.

It's very very specialist (about 5 places in the UK) and whereas a normal alloy will cost £45-55 a Diamond cut will set you back £95 and that's only if they think they can do it. Reason is I am told the machinery to do it costs a huge amount.

I don't know their name but search it on Google.

Thanks Bibs - might take you up on that! I'm off to Goodwood FoS tomorrow, and as luck would have it my dealer will be there so I can discuss whether a repair might be better.

Might have to have a big drink tonight to ease the pain!

Ian Jamison in York can repair just about anything. He gets wheels sent from all over the UK. He powder coats but if he doesn't have a colour match he can get the wheel painted or you can get it painted yourself.

I badly damaged a wheel on the Evora and three places said it couldn't be repaired, Ian has done work before for me and repaired it no problem. He had a pile of aircraft wheels in for repair last time I was there. He'll also 'unbuckle' wheels if need be.

Thanks guys for all your replies - much appreciated. I've been in touch with the dealer and they say they can sort it no problem which is reassuring, but I will bear in mind all that you have said. Lotus Silverstone have been pretty impressive all round actually..!
