How long with your Evora and how far?

This isn't a competition, it's just a question... How many years have you been driving your Evora and what's your average annual mileage in it? And did you have an Exige or other performance car before that?

I'm asking as currently having insurance dramas over my level of experience. It is apparently measured in years rather than miles. As a helicopter pilot this strikes me as odd as my pilot experience is measured in hours (ok, still time-based) but critically hours *actually flying the thing*. It seems weird that performance car experience is measured in years having a car rather than miles actually driven in it.

I'm intrigued though as to how many miles people tend to actually drive in their Evora each year.

Tell me. Pretty please.

Have you tried Direct Line for your insurance? I was amazed at how cheap it was  - half the price of the Lotus specialists out there for me.

I have only had the Evora since December but owned Lotuses since 2001. I'll only do 3-4k per year as it is a third car.

There's no way on the planet I'd go with Direct Line I'm afraid - had a mate with a posh car who chose them and they were happier to void the warranty on it than allow him to go to an approved dealer to sort out an accident repair....

Oct 2009 from new....one of the early Launch Editions.

21k miles on it now

Get cold feet about changing it every 6 months but cannot really find anything else that is anywhere near as good that would tempt me at a similar price.

Previously had an Elise 111s and did about 20k in about 3-4yrs

Had an Elise 111R with a s/c before. £600 was the insurance. The Evora S is £330 which is amazing although it has big excesses, through DL too. The Elise was high due the to modifications. I'll do about 9000m a year and use it 2-3 a week on average.

Mines insured with Tesco, I used them years ago and they were excellent when I made a claim.

I've have mine two and a half years and I've done 11,000 miles in that time.

I have decided to sell her though if anyone is interested.

Bought mine in March this year and I've driven 9950 miles so far incl. one trip to UK. Previously owned an Opel Speedster (VX220 to you guys) for four years. Drove that one approx. 37500 miles in total.

Insurance seems to be equally confusing wherever you go. Had a number of companies even refusing to insure the Evora (but happily accept a Porsche...). I always compare a bunch of them each year.

Owned about a year and 9000 miles. I've had numerous Lotuses in the past and mines a daily driver. I went with one-answer, not the cheapest but they have a relaxed attitude to minor mods (exhausts, decats etc..) and include track cover.

I could have saved some money using the cheapest internet quote, but not worth it in my opinion.
