  1. New car day - collected Saturday. Tedious running in period now … love it !
  2. After cancelling my Emira deposit in Feb 23, i am now back in! Had a great year in a 2018 Vantage but still miss the Lotus handling and a Manual box so on Saturday I am collecting a 73 plate pre-registered car with almost no miles car at a good price. I have noticed a few similar 'older' 73 plates have sold recently and the new ones coming on the market seemed to be priced a little higher. In contrast the 23 plates with low miles seem to be stalling as the extra cost for a 73 plate (essentially new car) is quite small. Collecting Saturday so pics to follow - excited ! Good to be back!
  3. Having had a Taycan for 2 weeks now, it is brilliant. I have a home charger and I don’t expect to have to charge it away from home more than perhaps 5 times in a year as we rarely travel more than the 250 mile real range Buying through the company gives great tax breaks but I do expect the used value to take a big hit compared the last Macan we had as the family car.
  4. Collected this Saturday...brave new world. Purchased via the business so Rishi is giving me a nice big 40% discount of off the cost via capital allowances. Also lets me offset the interest charges as tax deductible. What's not to like
  5. thanks bibs - already sold. I also have an Evora outdoor cover which I will be putting up as soon as i can get round to taking a picture.
  6. Just traded in a 4 yr old macan - WBAC were £36k. Cazoo (I think) £31k and motorway £37.5k (their guide as it then gets offered out) i spoke to 4 different dealers who all agreed £36k was about the right trade in value. the dealer that took it now has it up for £41.5k - I don’t think 5k mark up is too outrageous as they have to prep it, warranty it and probably get chipped to 40k anyway
  7. I cancelled - sent a simple email to customer services. I got a reply either the same day or the next day acknowledging and stating i would receive refund in 14 working days. Money was in my account 9 days later. The really sad thing is they didnt ask why or if they could do anything to change my mind.
  8. Sorry to say but I cancelled. In the end it was a close call but I decided a 570 wasnt quite right for my needs just now. Deposit placed :
  9. Thanks - Have 570 test drive now booked for Friday. was yours the yellow evora I saw in leeds on Saturday ?
  10. Finally took a new shape vantage out for a test yesterday and blew me away, something two Emira tests both failed to do. now urgently need to try a 570 but my emotional attachment waiting for the Emira is almost fully broken now.😢
  11. If it was about 4.30, blue emira and silver s1, the s1 was me. Just been to test drive the emira
  12. i was the second owner of this one from 20-30k miles. I bought it from lotus silverstone and they sold it on for me 2 yrs ago. its had 2 owners since, both have done circa 10k p/a each. Car was prefectly fine when i had it

    Test Drives

Had my test drive today at Silverstone. Magma Red, Touring Spec, goodyears. My Emira is due for Jan build/ Feb delivery. I arrived in an S1 Elise but my recent cars include a launch Evora, Evora S and most recently Evora 400 - so my real comparable is against an Evora 400. Looks are very supercar and the ultimate accolade was getting a thumbs up from a guy in a 911 GT3 who went past me on the dual carriageway. This car will turn heads. Quality good, no obvious problems, although behind the mesh around the exhaust tailpipes looked messy with some unsightly insulation visible (very Lotus). Seats very comfortable - to be honest I found them slightly too soft / padded / comfortable for a Lotus. I would be happier with something a little firmer (but remember I arrived in an Elise) I really didn't like the colour but that's a personal opinion. Mainly quiet, fast(ish) country roads and a short dual carriageway. Car in Sport mode throughout and roads dry although a little greasy. Very quiet and refined on the dual carriageway and I didn't notice any wind noise - perfect daily driver. Exhaust noise (in sport mode) was too quiet (400 much better) Power is ok, adequate at best but it did feel fast enough for the road, but no "wow" factor. As somebody else said, this is why its £80k not £100k+. However it does pull well in all gears throughout the rev range. I hit the rev limiter twice in 3rd gear when I wasn't expecting it - there is no real noticeable top end 'crescendo' to the power / noise that instinctively tells you to change gear. I guess I was going faster than I realised - the car carries speed easily. Brakes amazing Gearbox / change - ok. Not amazing, not bad. A bit notchy but nothing of concern. Again no different to a 400. Gear ratios suit the car well. Handling - great (as you would expect). I found the touring spec very compliant. However again it felt softer than a 400 and again a bit too soft for me. However I think I have selected Sport in my spec and I am happy with the choice, although it would be helpful to test a Sport car in comparison. In summary - its a great car but I was a little underwhelmed. It is very much an Evora 400 in a new dress and much nicer interior If I still had my Evora 400 i would struggle to justify the uplift to change. The Evora 410's are currently around £60-65k on a 19/20 plate so a 15-20k uplift for a brand new Emira just about makes sense but if the 410s were closer to £55k then I think a 410 would be a much more attractive option. Before this drive I was 50/50 on whether I would proceed with the purchase and that has not changed - if anything I am moving more towards pulling the plug and coming back in a couple of years. I have spent the last hour browsing Astons and Mclarens at just a little bit more money, which tells you everything. In the short term i will stick with the deposit as i don't need a sports car in Winter and will review in Jan/Feb when I need to make a decision. If used prices start (continue) falling then will probably bail out and if I had to decide today I think I would probably pull out.

    Test Drives

email today - test booked for Wednesday am at silverstone - although they have touring and i have ordered sport - (current production date Jan23)
  17. Call today - Now Jan build/Feb delivery (was Oct-Nov). July 9th order (8am goodwood friday) - was told I am quite high / early in batch 2 currently 50/50 at best whether i will proceed
  18. I have been quite cold for a long time now. It’s only the high price of used alternatives that has meant I have kept my deposit in place. Had the email today so expecting a call anytime - I am guessing Jan delivery which I will ask to defer to March. If this gets pushed later into summer then I will keep looking for alternatives anyway. tempted by an evora 410 as they have started to drop below 60k.
  19. where is my old stormtrooper now - EV04AAA? not seen her for a while - anyone on here know?
  20. my spec but minus privacy glass and with black interior (not brave enough to trust the samples for Tan). Love it
  21. Definitely change the wing - i think more people would be put off than those that like it, and the comments above seem to reflect that. Love the colour and price seems ok a few weeks ago but I detect prices are already dropping (a little) and I think will continue - economy, interest rates, energy bills, winter coming and emira deliveries may add to the evoras on sale. My last 400 is currently on PH at £47k albeit now with nearly 50k miles on it. good luck
