It's disgusting porn and Arun should be locked up for producing it. Don't throw away his keys though as I have a nice warm garage for the car!

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Arun. I hope you don't me saying this, but I don't like you. Truly don't like you.

You have no idea the jealousy and envy I have for your new toy. If only it had  a radio, I would most certainly be fuming for stealing my favourite colour.

Another vote for not liking you Arun ;)

I get this a lot, don't worry.

But seriously, Tom, be careful not to cry too much,  those tears would stain your oyster leather real bad.

Thanks Mark.

Right, door pins....No, my car doesn't have central locking. It is complete pot luck these days as to weather your Cup car will be built with or without redundant door pins. I noticed this as well when the car was in build and asked specifically.

I don't particularly like the fact they're there, because A.) They're redundant, since they don't drop when you lock the door with the key,and B.) It gives the impression the car is unlocked, so I've actually requested they are swapped out for the neat little blanking caps you probably have in your Cup when the running-in service is carried out.

Well spotted!

Lotus Quirks at their best! Completely agree RE door locks giving the impression it's unlocked. Ok, granted they still won't be able to get it - but if you dangle a sweet infront of a kid, they'll want it. Best not to give the thieving sods the temptation (car thieves....not kids - albeit could be argued).

Beautiful car.  Good luck.  I just bought a V6 Cup R, solely for track use - none of the new Elises or Exiges are street legal here in the US  :(  Its in the process of being shipped, but Lotus emailed me a few pictures after the build.  Picture quality is not that great and the car looks a little yellow instead of white.  But here they are.  Should be amazing!

Thanks Bruce, that looks absolutely fantastic too.

We've not seen many manual Cup Rs, so respect for that as well. Be sure to update us on how you find the car once it lands stateside!

*Edit to add: Different harnesses between the driver and passenger? Looks like your passenger seat has the same harnesses we get on our Cup road cars.

I think that's right re the harnesses.  I basically ordered the car with the option of the passenger seat and I was told the harnesses are what they are.

Looking shockingly filthy after getting the first 220miles out the way this week, the Cup has had it's first wash, in time for a last-minute reminder of the Pistonheads Sunday Service at Goodwood tomorrow. I'm so impressed with the colour, it's just gorgeous

The black wheel gel badges I've recieved are also on, but I think I need to add a couple of mm on the diameter to get it to look right. The gel badges do completely cover the yellow original roundel, but some of the yellow 'bleeds' out around the raised clear edge of the original cap, if that makes sense.

Have you bought the wrong size cap covers? I changed the ones on my first Evora to black ones and they were available in different sizes, but you're supposed to take the yellow ones off the plastic caps before fitting them. Stunning car by the way!

These are gel overlays that go on top of the OEM caps. The diameter matches the yellow roundel exactly but there's a mm rim of clear plastic cap surrounding it that allow the yellow to bleed through. Tbf the photo makes it look much worse, but I need to have another stab. Couldn't get proper replacement caps in the right size and don't really want to replace the original caps anyway, as they are the later specification that don't fall off on track (though I'm fully expecting this gel overlays won't stand the heat either). It's all a work in progress to get things perfect. You know I didn't mind the yellow too much anyway, as you rarely see them in the same view as the black nose badge.

I had the pleasure of seeing Arun's car in the flesh at PHSS - wow! It looked amazing and that was on a dull grey day. It remined me of the macca volcano red.

Thats the best cup I have seen - congrats Arun!

Enjoy Wales!

Thanks Farook, great to catch up again.

I'm really happy you mentioned McLaren Volcano Red, as between that and Alfa Romeo Competizone Red, that was exactly what I was trying to go for!

See you at the next trackday.

I didn´t even know you could get it with a manual. Well, at least you will have an even better car when you are on track. The Cup R seems to more or less kill the V6 Cup according to this review of the two:
