Hi all - having lurked a little on thelotusforums, time to stick my head above the parapet.  I picked up @Philsport300's old car on Saturday from jct600 in Leeds.  Phil - many many thanks for moving swiftly on this, and for the favours on the paperwork.  I had an Exige S S2 for a couple of years when I had very young kids, but now time to own a Lotus again and had to be a 2+2.  Stunning looking, driving, and of course sounding car.  @JayEmm - the Suffolk/Essex Evora 400 fleet swells further...

Greg

You're just jealous, the ST is the perfect station car as you know.

@Chew congratulations, would love to have a look at yours in the metal, I thought the colour looked stunning in the build pictures. I have just bored Greg silly for an hour on the train about what I want to do after the Exige (and I never thought I would say that).

Evora 410 in Sprint Colours, surely? :D

Hmmmm.

More seriously, one of the arguments for getting it signed off by the boss would be the rear seats. Also I'd want the A/C, stereo and cruise added back on which I think will put the cost beyond me. And I'd need a big discount and there's no 50/50 on them either?

I think the hethel edition looks good value actually (although I can't see any mention of cruise control but I'm presuming it must have it).

Yes, it's the Silverstone car. I had been in touch with the factory following the TG article on the Exige in 007 colours and then I saw the Fire Red Evora advertised, but no pictures. As soon as I saw it, it was a done deal. Originally it had silver forged wheels but I asked them to be changed for the black forged items. Personally, I think these look better than the silver ones in this colour combination ... As always though, these things are a matter of taste!

@Chew you've been spotted!! I'm guessing that was your 400 in the Kelvedon station car park. Looked stunning!

Hawk-eyed stuff from you there, @Gm77.  I knew I should've washed it last night...  I nearly always cycle the 10+ miles to the station, but decided to give the Evora an early morning Fri spin (and my legs a break).  Valve open sounds even more ludicrously loud at 5.30-odd in the morning.  Actually, I'm interested in peoples' views - do you let concerns over car park dings (or worse) mean you don't drive it when you have the opportunity, or just go for it and trust your luck (I'm guessing this should be on the 'as a daily driver' thread)?  Oh, and for any lurkers with ill intent - the Evora 400 will be making infrequent and irregular appearances at Greater Anglia station car parks!!

A great question. I know opinions vary but here's mine:

I've had a few car park dings in my time. In fact my Evora got one within the first week. The worst car I had was my 6 series, probably because it was so wide. I've never had anything malicious done to my car, frankly most people probably see an M3 in a worse light than they do an Evora.

The last time I checked paint was paint, and it didn't really cost much more to respray the Lotus than it does my van, so I'll keep using the Lotus.

It's like people who don't take their cars to shows because they once saw some grubby fingerprints on their car from an ill-behaved child. Sure, that can happen, but 99% of people at a car show are very respectful and careful. I can't say that of Waitrose car park.
