Slade

love the TR7 (or 8) DHC!

that was my first British car and my first love (automotive-wise, though

if you asked my girlfriends from that time they would say first love period!)

I was in college when I bought it in 1987

at that time I read a feature in a car magazine about a G Esprit

and I said to myself that's my next British sports car

2 yrs later the Stevens Esprit came out and I read all about it in the car magazines

and promised myself that somehow I would own one

It took 16 years but I finally fulfilled that promise

I still think about that TR7 though...

alas, it met with a terrible end in 1992

the fuel pump quit in a dept store parking lot

so I borrowed my buddy's (had to remove it from his car)

but something went wrong and the spilled fuel ignited!

I emptied 2 fire extinguishers and put it out twice but

the fire just kept comming back and it burned to the ground :unworthy:

but that allowed me to buy my first sportbike (CBR 600 F2)

which really eased the pain

rock on brother!

hehe, thanks for the warm welcome back Kimbers :unworthy: I'll try to be less the invisible man from now on! :wallbash:

HAH. I usually don't get so much love for the TR7, thanks lol. It was my uncle's, til he died (1995), and sat in my grandma's garage for 10 years til the family agreed to dump it on me so grandma's washer and dryer would have more room

I like being a double wedgie B) Sorry to hear about yours...

Yeah, it's a TR7, with Bosch EFI no less. It's only caught on fire... once so far, heh. (I'd been pouring fuel into the throttle body to get it started, unbeknownst to be there was a hole in the ducting that poured a good bit of the fuel directly onto a deceased, mummified rat, which became flambe when the car backfired...)

No damage. luckily. somehow.

"It's called a fire hydrant. Firemen like to stick their hose in it, and eventually squirt water from it."

Owner of 86 TE HCI, and 55 Chevy. Stare at broken down TR7
