How Do We Compare?

Hi Bibs,

whilst searching for esprit wheel info, google threw up the yahoo Esprit group usage stats and so I plotted them. How do we compare?

(Been using it as an example to teach caitlin how to use spreadsheeets and storing photos on the web)

Ahhhh!!

I thought it looked busy for the UK list

November 2003, the UK yahoo had 1817 posts...

November 2006 they had an incredible 7 posts!

December 2006 saw just 4 posts all month, which shows real community spirit

in my opinion, they don't even wish each other happy Christmas, which is nice.

It's somewhere that they freely admit is not for meeting people or making new

friends, not for chatting about meets (they hated that), and not for any non car

related idle chat. Its the place to go if you want to ask a technical question and

then wait 17 days for an answer (see december), it's a place where five posts

a day is hailed as 'activity'. A place where the walls are cold and souls cry out

in pain.

BUT, and this is the truth, they are happy as hell there, so best of luck to them.

I just hope no possible new owners find that place first and give up on the idea

forever...

As i said before, i've put down healthier pets.

In fairness to them (UK list) there have been one or two more posts than usual during last week or so. Irony is that they're talking about LEF; specifically the Bigsi project/handover - one of 'em was obviously at Combe - and one of 'our' tyre threads [both were very complimentary BTW]
