  1. Mine arrived yesterday. Many thanks Dermot.
  2. Was on the UKLotusEsprit Yahoo list. Not as definitive as I thought but should still be of some help. Messages 1a. Re: Window lift motor (Turbo SE) Posted by: "Vincent T" Fri Apr 27, 2007 4:03 am (PST) I e-mailed Steve at SJ Sports Cars about it, and his reply was rather interesting, so I thought I would share it ! Basically it looks like I opened a can of worms ! ;-/ Here is what he said... ---------------- "The Electric window motors are a big problem! Lotus used three types of motor one of these three had either eight or ten teeth, one has eight and one has ten. Only one is available new, (yes it is just the motor) but this will only work with the eight teeth type regulators. It's quite simply a minefield and I prefer not to sell them, due to their high cost (154 Pounds) and the high possibility they will not fit your car. If they did not engage properly with the regulator you would have to buy new one, another 150 Pounds. I think it's best that you at least try to get the old ones refurbished." --------------- -- Vince Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (16) 1b. Re: Window lift motor (Turbo SE) Posted by: "peter.m Fri Apr 27, 2007 7:34 am (PST) Vince, Have you tried South West Lotus Centre or PNM Engineering? I think they both carry plenty of reconditioned parts. Regards, Peter. Re: Window lift motor (Turbo SE) Posted by: "feffman" Fri Apr 27, 2007 7:39 am (PST) Vince: Most of us in the US simply have the old motor rebuilt. Surely there's shop in The UK that can easily refurbish it for your friend. One other thing is to upgrade the SE windows to use the relays as with the later S4/S4s/V8. There's a diagram on the US TurboEsprit Yahoo list. Title is "Lotus Esprit Window Upgrade". If there's room, I'll post it in the files on this list. Oh thanks, didn't think of them somehow (don't even know whether they ship in France), will e-mail them... -- Vince Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (16) 1e. Hi Mark, Wow, I am sooo glad to hear that they can be rebuilt ! That means it must be possible to find someone in France or England who can do it too, and if not, at least I can post on the US Esprit list to ask for an address over there ! Shipping will probably be expensive because of the weight, but it will still turn out a lot cheaper than brand new units I would imagine ! > One other thing is to upgrade the SE windows to use the relays as with > the later S4/S4s/V8. Yeah I was thinking of suggesting this to my friend, so that the window switches, which I think he is going to replace as well, don't degrade/fail over the years. > There's a diagram on the US TurboEsprit Yahoo list. > Title is "Lotus Esprit Window Upgrade". Don't bother, duplicating stuff is not very elegant ! ;-) I will just re-subscribe to the US list and pinch the file there.... well, when the Yahoo Groups server comes back to life that is... right now it doesn't seem all that responsive... -- Vince Edit - full names & email addresses removed
  3. You do now Richard I'll tell you it took a whole lot of chewing too I also got a truly rubbish 35 mm all-plastic camera (inc lense)... the shoulder strap of which always reminded me of the liquorice 'boot laces' but actually tasted a lot better
  4. Go out for a few beers, get back late (for a Monday) only to find I've missed the momentous 1,000th post. Congrats Ian
  5. Yes indeedy... actually preferred them to the chocolate version (never tasted like 'real' chocolate to me). Think I can vaguely remember those particular Spangles Martyn, although I think I preferred the Olde English variety. Anyone remember Bazooka Joe bubblegum (you must Kimbers cos it was pink )? Each piece came with a paper 'token'; when you'd saved enough you could exchange them for a range of el cheapo gifts.
  6. Seem to recall this being discussed over on the Yahoo turbo list a few weeks back. If it'll be any help I'll try and dig out the relevant info during next 24 hours or so.
  7. 'If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit join our club'
  8. You mean these Mark? Yes, you can still buy them. But, in my opinion, they don't taste as good as they used to - the toffee doesn't seem half as nice
  9. Thanks Katie, that's a really kind offer . But have just watched the Highlights programme I recorded last night. Admittedly not nearly as exciting as watching it live - especially when you already know the result - but good viewing all the same. Superb drive by LH, and a well deserved win... I suspect the first of many. Still reckon he won't win the Drivers' Championship Kimbers?
  10. Go on Kimbers... just rub it in a bit more why don't you? Thanks Ian Off to set the recorder now (been a long, alcohol fuelled w/e - desperately need sleep).
  11. Bloody typical... LH scores his maiden victory in the only GP I've missed this season
  12. The objective being to display a photo below your username when posting? << Like this 1. Click on 'My Controls' (above) 2. Menu/Personal Profile/Edit Avatar Settings 3. Pop the url of the photo in the appropriate box (or upload photo from your pc) 4. Hit 'Update Avatar' 5. Image should then be displayed in 'Your Current Avatar' 6. Job done
  13. Oh, you found them Howard. Trust you've ordered some? Reckon they ought to give us an LEF discount with the amount of money that's been spent on there during the last 24 hours.
  14. Never heard of floral gums or gelatines Howard - what were they?
  15. Don't worry Trevor, you're not alone, I was gonna ask exactly the same question Also, how about some guidance as to what does and doesn't warrant inclusion in Wiki i.e. is it simply a case of extracting/summarising information from existing threads/sources or is there more to it than that? Situation if someone spots something in wiki that they believe is incorrect?
  16. Just another 6 5 posts to go then Ian?

    Le Mans 2007

They were great cars weren't they? My very first car was a red Dolomite Sprint - not a terribly sensible choice, as will become clear. Absolutely adored it and spent every minute of my spare time out driving it. Unfortunately, being a typical young/reckless male driver I suffered from the usual delusions of invincibility. The result being that the car met with a very nasty end involving a corner, a wet road and a concrete lamp post some six months later Needless to say, as a young (and stupid) know-it-all I'd also 'saved' money by insuring it Third Party Fire and Theft only My father's "I told you so" comment really didn't help. A lesson learned.

Chris (esprit22) is the closest. Believe that he might be going for a look tomorrow. This thread will probably help.
  21. Answers to some of your queries here chaps - clicky Stumbled across the site when I was trying to track down supplies of one of my favourite biscuits - Coconut Crumble Creams. Disappeared from the shelves four or five years ago and haven't been seen since
