  1. Oh I see that now 😁 With me running a similar power plant perhaps the brake upgrade will be wise 🧐🙂 David, I wasn’t aware you took that step already, I’m guessing you’re a big fan? 👍🏻 This is going to be an awesome JPS when finished 😉
  2. Looks very good, I take it your brake shields were well corroded like mine? I’m yet to find a suitable replacement. That lower shock bolt could do with being 5mm longer to properly protrude through the nylon insert in the nyloc but that’s only being picky 🙂
  3. Well that’s it, now you’ve made the first post we all want to see some regular progress? You have the best colour combo so no painting it retail white 😁
  4. Now time to get your ass in gear and make it beautiful again 😉
  5. I don’t have either HTU355Xor WXJ1 so will have to get their chassis numbers. I suspect HTU is 1196 and WXJ isn’t recognised on the system so the plate must have changed. Wurzel has a October 1982 car so later than yours Jason, I share the register with Andy so not sure why he doesn’t recognise it. Cars did hang around lotus, there’s 1976 S1’s registered in 1978 for example. If you want a copy just PM me 👍🏻 Dave
  6. Calling the dogs to go out and missing a cavalier, she was inside their toy box hiding, reminded me of ET 😁
  7. Thats pretty much it, you can negate the Evap system if that’s missing although I do have it if needed. What carbs are you running?
  8. Heres an older pic before I stripped the car to restore it, the pump should be a SU so this was added by a previous keeper in the US.
  9. The later S1’s had the pump mounted low down on the LH side just inboard of the tank crossover pipe, it was mounted on a bracket on the bulkhead. I have 182H so your car is as per mine 👍🏻
  10. The girls having the usual sunshine fun
  11. Here is the correct LH tank https://www.sjsportscars.com/parts-and-accessories/D079L4001F.htm I have a good original I think but in the U.K. The SU pump mounts next to the RH tank, I’ll do you a photo at the weekend. 🙂👍🏻 Can’t help with the filler neck. Dave
  12. The more prestigious the marque becomes with high end models then the classics will gain interest from a different audience I expect. Classic Ferraris are highly sort after along with Astons. EV doesn’t seem to worry classic owners currently which is positive. 👍🏻
  13. According to classic car mag the esprit prices are on the up which is interesting as I thought the market was fairly flat recently. positive news for the sellers but not ideal if buying so jump now 🙂
  14. David it’s a October 1976 car so not sure why it shows as July 77 build either. Vin is 761000194, there are loads like this registered late on the register. Some better pics when cleaned up, it’s got a fair few gel cracks and had its lower painted black, the usual S1 sunroof to sort but all doable without losing to much originality if planned carefully. It still retains its early features like the kidney reservoir which is nice, not sure about its toolkit or Jack. Matching number car as well.
  15. Welcome back Vin, I assumed you’d sold it.. Looking forward to the updates 🙂
  16. It 0194G so an earlier 76 car just registered late, it was previously registered as 250LOT The guide price is well short of what it’ll actually reach but it does look like a nice project and hopefully will get a sympathetic restoration saving the originality rather than a full nut and bolt rebuild.
  17. I feel a purchase coming on…. 😉
  18. Thanks Nu, I don’t know it but looks like a good original car to restore with tartan. 🙂
  19. I’d get the pump out for an inspection as I’ve found some horrendous ones on engines over the years with unbelievable corrosion and impellers incorrectly gapped. It’s a shame you’re so far away as doing the pump isn’t that bad (certainly not fun mind) especially if the cap screw has been installed in way of the Aux pulley. As Steve says you could bypass the rad with a length of hose, the fans would still kick in if flow to the Otto switch is achieved. Time to get this sorted as it’s been going on a good while now and you don’t want to get caught in a traffic jam situation and do your headgasket.😬 I had collapsing fuel hoses on a MG metro turbo years ago right up behind the tank, it was fine cold then kept dying as the cars temp went up, took me months to fix that and endless talks to people. An old boy from stock car racing pointed me to it in the end so don’t rule Steve’s thinking out 👍🏻
  20. Can’t think where I’ve seen that before Fabian 😁
  21. No worries Steve, I have most of the components now so will do a step by step photo guide with prices for budgeting once it’s running. I’m building the car as my daily hack for work so doing a bit of a restomod now with a tad better economy.
