  1. I take it youve tried frosts....the restoration specialists here in the uk? Im not sure about the postage situation though..worth a look.ive had many products from them over the years..
  2. Thats not a daft idea really...ive been thinking about adapting my floor to remove separate from the boot wall, but to have a quicker releasr on it whilst still enabling it to remain sealed and waterproof..easy access to gearbox etc and it would save spreading my weight about carefully like spidermam when im tinkering on the engine...and it gives me something to think about whilst at work :-D
  3. I had someone say a few days ago....it looks like a ferrari....is it based on one? But what annoys me more than misrecognition is the cocky buggers who know its a lotus but delight in trying to tell me how unreliable it is and how its an assembly of old marina parts....ive got a few choice replies, but the nice ones are...have you ever owned one? No? There you go...and regarding the reliability...i reply...not this one, I built it. But of course if it was a tvr people wouldnt mention reliability...theyd be too dazzled by the v8 and silly amounts of chrome plated this n that...
  4. Ok...i use espritmob personally, but as computers arnt my forte...where do I look ob espritmon then :s sorry to be a pain!
  5. Always a help there! just to confirm, the number physically printed on the chip will contain tje digits listed on that link then..
  6. Does anyone know if the numbers onthe memcal are all identical for the s4, the s4s having a different set of numbers, gt3 etc....im trying to determin if by looking at an original memcal, it can be determined from which model it came, without having to send it off to be read... Cheers..
  7. My yellow s4 is gd for it.few chips etc close up..but very clean otherwise.
  8. Here here...i got the advance sat ticket with the discount code, took the train there so no parking worries.glad I got there for when it opened...it took me 2 hours to get round hall4 first..i did kinda skip the american section as it was stupidly busy.bikes was fairly empty, although im glad a went and dribbled over the vincents...it can be an expensive day out yes, but I thought it was great.highlights for me included the pimped up anglias...and dare I say it the yugos and skodas...purely because its good to know someone loves them still! Funny thing though, was by the yugo stand and the power to their display had gone out...a mmber ofthe nec staff had gone to sort it, came back and apologized..the yugo chap said dont worry, were yugo owners...were used to things breaking all the time.made me chuckle....
  9. Had a look at the official site for this year..could be fun..what sort of time was the rondevous at last year? With my highly (not) jetset life, id need to plan where im at the day before...
  10. So wat was the general activity for this then last time?
  11. Does anyone know the correct model that our fuel rails came from in the gm group? I only ask as im searching for a fuel rail adapter to remove the pressure reg from the end to fit an adjustable unit.cheers..
  12. Interesting news. Have you fitted one yet? I take it its still just two wires to wire into existing car loom, and it would come preset from the supplier at the correct rates? The accumulator you say also you have fitted in the other thread topic, how are your brakes now? Do you see any improvement from before changing your accumulator, or is it just that they work but you are happy they are reliable with their pressure now.. Darren
  13. Having missed out last year...im wondering if there will be a show of lotus again this year?
  14. I only had two on mine! Also, if your splitting the gearbox off the engine, the bottom two bolts on the bellhousing are shimed...it should have stamped on the underside of the bell by the bolts the thickness of shim...mine was 0.0 and had no shims...
  15. Well, abs disabled...wales trip done to test them.so much better...whilst not the same sharp feel as a modern brake, but definately much sharper...so, it would be interesting to see the pressure my system is producing currently to compare it to the figures it would have been new..
  16. Courtesy of my visual art director for the day...
  17. Sooty eh?.. I thought a bit of biodiesel would give good mileage :-D. Yez the old dear did jump a wee bit...i did chuckle....fantastic trip out.at least I know where im looking now for my running issues!
  18. Well in preparation for sundays jaunt round wales with a few other esprits, ive rebled tye brakes this week to try and improve the wooden feel ive had. My abs doesnt work all the time, but when it does it doesnt instill confidence...now, ive had the pressure switch out, sprayed it up in releasing fluid to make sure there is no crap in the hole on the.end, reinstalled and rebled. Pedal feel with abs working is shocking still. However, a I have a fault on it, out of shape abs ring on front hub, it soon turns itself off and onto normal assisted braking. Which, on a quick test run tonight, appears to be far better. Before I wasnt impressed with the feel and bite of yellowstuff pads, but it appears now the pedal feels more.like a normal servo'd brake with a sharper bite... The test wil be sunday really, im going to disable the abs I think for good, I just dont like the inconsistent pedal.everything appears to work as it should, just that interferes. On another note, anyone else fancy joining the trip out? Theres 8 pf us.so far!
  19. So it looks like its running efficiently then..with no issues keeping the temps down! Which is good news, I wasnt sure if I still had an air lock in it as it was a bugger to bleed even with a bleed screw on the rad
  20. Nope everything works fine except for the Stevens section...its saying fatal error ips controller not found in /home/dzxlgzyz/public_html/forums/index.php on line 26
  21. Is anyone elsr having issues getting into the Stevens esprit section. Keeps comming up with fatal error ips controller missing from some directory...i posted this morning on it!
  22. Having done an espritmon log the other weekend, I finally decided to take a look at it, just to see how my chargecooler upgrades are working. Reasonably spirited driving down country lanes ending in town driving over a twenty min period. Basically, my air temp is reading steady about 30 to 32 degrees around the lanes, in town driving it tended to peak about 35 degrees. It wasnt a particularly hot or cold day, about 18 degrees if I remember. So chaps, how does this compare to other peoples...the mods btw are the electric pump, and a rather large upgraded custom rad. darren
  23. Paul, sorry to hear that..take it then your pump isnt running up to pressure...you found a source for a new pressure switch? Im going through my abs issue this week to ensure its fully functional for once...not just when it chooses! Touch wood, I had my pressure switch out too for cleaning, even though it works. Just want to see if a better pedal can be gained..
  24. While your on good terms with them can you put in a word for them to provide the never ending fuel tank of fun? I did ask santa last year but it seems to have been forgotten...
  25. Exactly as above! If the engines out...change everything you can...youll find you regret not doin it if you dont!
