  1. the LED's tick a lot of boxes at school with the kids i'll have you know...you should of seen it when the max power/jps se turned up with gold viper stipes and matching (sort of) rims and asbo exhaust...twas a clear favourite. they all think the evora is a great car though...does that make you feel better?
  2. I'm only going to avoid the late night phone call on the detailed explanation of docking...anyway Sparky knows more about it than me.
  3. Interestingly 16 of the posters on this thread are Esprit owners 17 if you count Paul C who had 2...i'm guessing we're the most gutted in a way...we just want/wanted that 'blisteringly quick' supercar that makes you moist at the mere sight of it...there are no real 'alternatives' to the Esprit in my mind. If you read the number of newbie Esprit owners posts on the day they pick up or take posession of their Esprits all they talk about is the 'grin on their faces' and how 'in love' they are with their purchase despite the Esprit's many, many faults... Essentially, this is my point in a nutshell. Evora owners/threads/topics seem to be about the pro's and con's of bench seats, the isofix baby seat fitted option and the depreciation/price and what a magazine write up says. All of which aren't/weren't and never will be considerations in my 'eventual' Esprit replacement or initial purchase of it. But this is all fascinating and i like the thread. Incidentally there is nothing wrong with sandals, especially with the addition of black socks.
  4. wasn't the VW Scirocco Car of the Year 2008? hmmm?

    Hero.

    hilarious i love it!
  6. Have i said no yet? never, not in a million years. They would need to pay me, I would rather take my wife's Touran out for a spin and that's a flipping diesel. I just don't like it and therefore would not want to drive it to experience whatever driving wonder it may or may not arguably have...I wouldn't say a 20 year old esprit is a great drive mine is like a tank on steroids, but I love the look and want to get in the thing, drive its nuts off or just park it and stare at it...this is not how i feel about an evora. As far as alternatives for the same money - it's a no brainer there's far too many better, more dersirable cars out there, either new or 2nd hand that pish over the evora IMHO...And i feel, inherently the biggest problem for the evora. Unfortunately this is, in my humble opinion where lovers of the Esprit and the 'devoted waiting for the new Esprit' masses will see the demise of Lotus as a brand - the evora is overpriced and ain't selling and ain't gonna - this will NOT make the company enough to shell out on R+D etc for a NEW Esprit...if they try flogging off an Elise/Exige/Evora type model as what Esprit enthusiasts want then i think it will be another flop like the europa and evora of late. I may be wrong and hope for Lotus i am but i really don't want to think the new Esprit has any relationship to an Evora other than the lotus badge. Not really sure I want a V6 powered wide arch 02 V8 either...it is a difficult one and probably out of the realms of possibility for Lotus. I was in a Lotus Main Dealers very recently and there were a number of similarly priced used sports cars alongside the evora...'it' looked like wayne rooney at an Armani model's catwalk show - when it should of looked like Megan Fox at the Horns. When i asked how many were sold, the Evora specialist said 'I think 5'...enough said i thought. Why would someone buy one I said...'they're something different' he said....different to what i thought. Anyway 5 sold in however many months didn't make me think many people had
  7. Seriously though, Italian, Plod, Lambo - smacks of inevitability if you ask me.
  8. You sure it's not the amount of ladyboys you've had in one night?
  9. glad i'm not the only one going commando martyn, cheers.
  10. Sam thinks she will drive home...so i guess the single is free again - keep forgetting she can't drink. The singstar leaves with me so your encouragement for her to stay may well be benificial. I shall however go commando so as not to cause pant problems.

  17. Hello all, As some of you already know, each year my Year 6 class go on a residential visit in the summer. I usually organise the annual 'Show off your Esprit Day' in June, which has been a massive success raising in excess of £500 each time. Which is a huge contribution to the children's costs for the trip. Many thanks to all those who have supported this. See topic thread here: Well, my class this year is a lot smaller than previous years and the number of children that can actually afford to go is even less it works out to about £350 a head including the coach and it is a lot for them to raise so we are as a class, trying to be even more enterprising in our fundraising this year. The annual 'Show off your Esprit' day will be one of the many things we are organising and this christmas is another opportunity to raise a pound or two. We would like any offers or contributions to our Year 6 Christmas raffle prizes, anything...for example; the company that does our sports focus classes donated a week at their summer camp at the 'Show off your Esprit' event and that alone raised a couple of hundred pounds. I know Cliff Ledger of the SLEGS has generously donated in the past as have the many who have driven halfway around the country just to park their Esprits at the school all day, not to mention the monumental pish up at my house afterwards... So your thoughts, ideas and donations are very much appreciated here. Many thanks. Rog
  18. Al not a problem - if you want to talk sam round the deal is definitely on with the lambo as long as i get august...Ready to either hoof it north to bring you back for OEAWE II (Lads?) as soon as we have a date... Sparky I think Tracey or someone in your family has my Pants...
  19. Whilst i accept experience may be beneficial for a night down the Horns - a face like a bag of smashed crabs and more teeth than a ferrari gearbox aren't...incidentally why did we sit in the 'we've all shat ourselves' area???
  20. I can concur that it was a thoroughly fantastic weekend all round for me; after the debauchery at Watford Exotics minus full english, headed up to cheshire to cream over lamborghini's and steak but unfortunately not the evora...Thanks Dr Sparky and Al for a top weekend...I'm afraid I cannot concur about the clientele of the Horns, alhthough getting any of them home would be easy as they all had bus passes...
  21. Yes my thoughts are drawn toward a stomach lining balti or something...
  22. Just to add we will need malibu, Pineapple and orange juice fresh limes and some 140z gibraltar collins glasses failing that a large jug and several straws... Are we going out for wifebeaters first?
  23. Can confirm - i have polished the shaker, got my sub-arctic military sleeping bag, plenty of singstar and my rusty sherrifs badge...
