I suppose with bugger all else to watch on a Sunday evening the show can't fail. Although I think Clarkson is better suited to hosting 'Have I got news for you' the other two have opinions I can't be bothered to even question or think about. So the BBC should hand the show over to Tiff and Jason and with the sort of budget available produce a good show.

I have had and enjoyed my Esprit V8 for nearly two years now but with my daughter about to go to University and my role becoming the taxi service to Norwich on a fairly regular basis I have decided to sell the Esprit and buy a Mercedes Benz CLS 63 AMG which I think will provide a comfortable 4 seater for such occasions. I was in the process of trying to make the car one of the best examples in the country but as with all these things events occur which scupper the laid plans of mice and men like me. I have no doubt I will see everyone at the Lotus do in Donnington as my company will probably still be 'doing the roof' to the Exhibition Centre for a few more years yet.

If you get the chance take whatever car you bring to some roads I found around the back of Faslane, I was up there last year to do a survey of all the buildings there and one afternoon just took a road North of the base. Unfortunately it was just a hire car which I thrashed within an inch of it's life and really wished I'd have taken the Esprit there rather than flying up and hiring a car. You could see the twisting deserted road as far as the eye could see and not another car or speed camera in sight drivers heaven I can tell you.

I was lucky enough to see Doctor Feelgood and Ducks Deluxe in a big pub in London (I'll have to dig the tickets out as I always try to keep them) that shows my age. And the place was heaving and must have been full of real fans of both bands because the band just fed off the hot sweaty atmosphere.

I have just listened to an interview on Radio 4's front row on the guitarist from Doctor Feelgood. He has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and in true rock and roll 'it's better to burn out than fade away is doing a tour. I remember back in the 70's going to see them at the Portsmouth Guildhal where the band started off playing really tight pub rock as it was in those days. All of a sudden the guitarist who looked like an office junior with a clean cut boys hair style suddenly 'flew' across the stage playing mind blowing incenduary guitar it was up there with Jimi Hendrix, John Campbell and a few others in so for as a jaw dropping experience if you haven't seen this guy try to catch him I don't think he has changed at all.

Hi Bibs, I tried the other day to place an advert for my Esprit and I seemed to go round in circles. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong. P.S. The car is on Pistonheads as well.

I didn't realise that the rubber on the winter tyres is softer than summer tyres until I saw a Porsche information video similar to that one above.

Premium bonds aren't so hot either, in our family all three of us have the maximum ammount each. My daughter has won about £1K and my wife and I have won nearly that over a 10 year period. I bought £30K worth of Rolls Royce shares which have gained more in 18 months than any premium bonds could ever return in that period so far. The lottery is a mugs game

I wonder if this NSX will go the same way as the last model. When it was first announced Honda said it would be £30K so I went down to John Butts (our local Honda agent) to place a deposit on one only to be told they were not taking deposits which was just as well, I scanned the motoring news every week looking for info on the car and about evry 6 months Honda announced the higher price for the car which eventually came out at nearly double the first announced price. So don't get too excited as it may land up a fortune on release. I very nearly bought one secondhand but it reminded me of my wifes Prelude having said that I bought an Esprit with Citroen switches.

Indeed if you still have the old Dunlops on your car you can be assured of some fun on damp roads or track as I found out to my peril at Castle Coombe with three 360's the new Toyo's feel better in the damp.

After reading Kimbers post on another thread I for one am more inclined to throw a few more thousand at my Esprit

Doesn't the Exige S cover that part of the market? Myself I'd have thought it suicide to attempt a Boxster rival as Porsche do it so well.

I recall my first impression of the Boxster was 'hey this is a bigger more comfortable Elise' and what's this button? oh it's active suspension so I can drive in great comfort to a track day, press the sport button for driving on track then if I have any tyres left put it back into comfort and listen to probably the best sound system I've ever had in a car for the drive home. Not too shabby a prospect really is it? I forgot to mention all for £26K with a two year official warranty. Don't get me wrong the Elise is a very good little point and squirt car it's just getting in and out and the motion sickness that crossed it off my list. I can get out of my Esprit quite easily though.
