Finally got my esprit back on the road since before the covid lock down. Reversing it back into the slightly narrower garage I spotted one reason why its so awkward to reverse using the mirrors my door mirror have different magnifications! having looked I can get concave or flat relatively easily which are best /originally fitted? Any recommendations for an aftermarket reversing camera the eBay one I have works but has a narrow viewing angle and takes ages to stabilize. would it be sacrilege to drill the bumper for ultrasonic sensors? I have matching midlife crisis red paint.... car is a 1989 SE Esprit

So I went with the RC ones as the easiest to get and only new ones available in the UK and had good reviews. It runs on 4 cylinders test drive later but so far so good. Thanks for the help

So I borrowed some noid lights and continuity tested the injector loom then triple checked the injector resistance. Seems one of the injectors resistance drops after being powered but returns when cold. I now get 2.3 2.2 2.3 (2.0)0.8 ohms anyone got a spare injector to test this I could buy? or any recommendations on the best available new ones to go for RC engineering or e5ze equivalents from who knows where

Interesting, very pertinent thread..... for me today. my car 89 SE GM fuel injection with charge cooler just passed its MOT after sitting since the covid lockdown (cam belt change last week). I filled it up with fresh fuel and off we went great after 2 miles no power no engine light....slowly drove home. its running on cylinders 2 and 3 only. spark is present on all plugs. plugs look and test ok but look dry on cylinders 1 and 4 Main injectors all measure 2 Ohms ish will get a better meter from work tomorrow. Compression within 5 PSI on all cylinders. Starts easily. not sure what to test next thinking swap coils swap injectors to see if I can move the fault to cylinders 1 and 4..... I wonder if injectors 1 and 4 are blocked stuck I would like to measure what is wrong rather than just guessing and replacing parts. Any ideas?

You may find your motors and mechanism just need a strip clean and oil, I would probably go for a rebuild kit. Be sure to unplug the motors as it is easy to kill the control module if you operate the motors without first disconnecting the motor cables.

He has no respect of property rights. Sadly I think he or someone similar will be voted in by generation rent. Things are wrong in our country but Corbyn and Momentum are definitely not the solution and neither are the Tory's the way they are carrying on at the moment. I just wish there was a competent political party out there, I never had much confidence in May and once I read her manifesto I realized who really was running the Tory party/ May and her team.

So I have now joined broken tail gate release cable club, luckily the boot clicked open at the same time as the crimped end came off the cable! Has anyone worked out a really simple fail safe just wondering if anyone had improved on the above suggestions. I was very lucky this time. I wondering if door central locking solenoids would be strong enough could even have an external power point under the car just for them. My Elan Plus 2 fail safe was to reach under the wheel arch and pull the whole cable assembly

Looks like a cross between: BAU5345 and a 13H7779 SQB168 (see ebay for pictures) Mini ones so maybe a customized version for Lotus. It is only the auto cancel that is broken on mine what I really want is an upgraded switch feel and auto cancel that works both ways. Has anyone found an upgrade that fits under the original column cover?

Did anyone find out if the mini part can be made to fit? as £100 for a bent mini indicator seems a tad expensive

Yes, looking forward to it. I should be there subject to the esprit being healthy! It's been reliable for 4 years but the last month not so good but at least it's now only 2 shades of midlife crisis red instead of 50 and handling a lot better with its new 4x4 ride height.
